The smell of coffee and bacon rouses me from my sleep and a small groan escapes me as I stretch out my aching limbs. I sit up and rub my eyes tiredly, the thin sheet that was covering me pooling around my naked waist. Just as I'm about to get out of bed, Ashton appears in the doorway wearing nothing but a pair of grey sweats that are hanging precariously low on his hips and he's carrying a small tray with him. He walks in the room and puts the tray down on the bedside table before pressing a soft kiss to my cheek.
"Good morning, Princess," he whispers, running his fingers through my hair. I give him a lazy smile and repeat the sentiment, my voice thick with sleep which causes him to chuckle. "Sleep well?" I hum in affirmation and he moves to grab the tray again, setting it in my lap. Two plates with bacon, eggs, and toast, as well as two cups of coffee rest on its surface. "Figured we could do breakfast in bed together."
"That sounds perfect. Especially since I'm not overly confident that I can walk right now." His soft smile turns into a lascivious smirk as he crawls into the bed beside me.
"Sorry 'bout that," he says as he picks up his coffee mug. I scoff and his smirk grows.
"No you're not."
"No, I'm not." He winks at me and takes a sip of his coffee while I shake my head at him. I rest my head against his shoulder and pick up a piece of bacon as he wraps his arm around me. "What time did you want to be home?" I pause my chewing to look up at him and pout.
"Oh... it's Sunday," I mumble absentmindedly as I return my focus to the tray in my lap. He chuckles and presses a soft kiss to my temple.
"You're more than welcome to stay if you'd like, but I have work in the morning and you have school." With a sigh, I nod my head and sit up slightly so I can take a bite of the eggs.
"No, I should go home. What time is it?" He places his coffee back on the tray and reaches for his phone.
"Nine."
"Sometime this afternoon?" I ask, hoping for a little bit more time with him.
"Whatever you'd like, Princess." I blush slightly and drop my gaze to my lap. He giggles and tips my chin up, pressing his lips to mine in a soft kiss. "Adorable," he mumbles against my lips. I blush more and push him away gently.
"Stop," I whine, but I can't stop the small smile from forming on my lips.
"What would you like to do today?" I think about it for a moment before I gasp and look up at him.
"Can we go for a picnic?" He gives me the fondest smile I think I've ever seen and nods, causing me to let out a tiny squeak and clap. His eyes sparkle with amusement as he watches me and I lean in to peck his lips briefly before returning my focus to my food.
After we eat, he grabs the dishes and heads to the kitchen, so I take the opportunity to get ready for the day. I grab a change of clothes and walk into the en suite, place my clothes on the counter, and turn on the rain shower. I give it a moment to heat up before stepping into the large glass cubicle, sighing contently as the water falls on me. I stand still for a few moments with my eyes closed, just enjoying the relaxing feeling, when I suddenly feel a pair of arms wrap around my waist. I scream and spin around only to come face to face with a very wet, very naked Ashton. His eyes widen fractionally, startled by my outburst, before he starts to laugh.
"I'm sorry, love," he says between laughs, and I narrow my eyes to glare at him.
"You scared me!" I pout, crossing my arms over my chest.
"That honestly wasn't my intention. I thought you heard me – I called out to you and everything," he explains, his laughter calming down to sporadic giggles. I sigh and roll my eyes, and he just stands there grinning at me. "I needed to shower as well, so I figured why not save water?" His grin turns a little less innocent as he takes a step closer to me, resting his hands on my hips.
