A blurred vision
●▬▬▬▬▬๑⇩⇩๑▬▬▬▬▬●The Holy Mother, a title only one from each generation has the honor to acquire. They are the spiritual leaders of the species, known for their wisdom and helpful advice, but also for their unique abilities.
Only the Holy Mother is able to access the 'Opal', an artifact passed down since the beginning which contains an immense power, that power being able to foresee the future.
This is why they're hold such significance, their main duty being to warn of ominous events. Predicting any diseases, famines, attacks, or disasters in the near future. However, because of this, the mers set up another group to focus on current urgent matters, the Stellar Maidens.
Stellar Maidens are chosen by the Holy Mother, mostly serving until death unless replaced or dismissed. They deal with matters such as nursing, forgery, agriculture, and wildlife whilst receiving advice from the Mother. Underneath them are the Zodai, particularly chosen and charged to protect the two important groups as well as lead attacks or hunts.
Which brings us to our current anxious group of Zodai-in-training. They were currently in front of the Holy Mother's chambers, nicknamed Elara for the first-ever one. On the white doors were carved images, portraying the elegance of the Lunar Goddess which is said to be the creator of the species.
"Hello, Holy Mother? It's me, Nejire Hado, I am accompanied by Yaoyorozu and her other pod-members, we wish to seek an audience." Nejire announced outside the large doors, knocking softly two times awaiting a response.
Shortly, the door was lightly pushed open, Nejire nodding to the anxious others as they swam into the grand room. Its walls were coated in white marble which reflected the blue hues of the ocean. The glassed ceiling had a perfect angle as the sun's rays rain down, reflecting in shimmering twinkles. On one side was grand bed draped in tinted curtains, accompanied with coral and other plants which wrapped around the many pillars in the room.
The group even spotting small fish swimming around the calm waters. Everything about it seemed so delicate with the aura calming and serene, and in the center of it, was the Mother herself in her grand beauty.
She had abundant spiky dark purple hair, which flowed graciously in the soft waters of the room. Her tail was just as long, the longest of all other mers, it had a base color of shadowy black. Accompanied with the mixing colors of purple and pink, her fins reflecting light making it glisten like stars on a perfect midnight sky. The beauty of Kayama Nemuri was truly undeniable.
They spotted her figure within the center of the room, standing behind a smaller stand which held an object above, tiny symbols decorating it. Her attire consisted of a silky see-through robe, tinted purple, and a necklace adorned with many shimmering gems. Above her head, was the pearl white crown, hugging her spiky hair comfortably as she looked up towards the newcomers.
"Ah, I would say I'm surprised at this sudden visit, but something is telling me I know what this is about," Kayama stated, swaying her tail gently as she swam closer to the newcomers, a gentle smile on her face.
"Excuse us for the interruption, my lady, but we have a dire issue which we need to discuss—" Yaoyorozu started until interrupted by an intense scream.
"Forgive us, Holy Mother! We lost sight of Izuku yesterday and we believe the humans had something to do with it! Forgive us please!" Mina cried out, swimming to the floor pleadingly as she knelt down. Jirou followed her actions, joining Mina in her chants of 'We're sorry' and 'Forgive us'.
Kayama stared wide-eyed, as her blue eyes darted from the two to the others as if to see any justification to their claims. The others all had troubled and seldom expressions, bending their heads lowly in disappointment. She simply sighed internally, smiling softly at the group.
