They're Back

Lance POV

Finally, me and the others are back on Earth. I run into my family's waiting arms, embracing them for the first time in years. Pidge does the same with her parents, and Shiro reunites with Adam. But Keith, beautiful Keith, is all alone. His dad is dead, and Krolia is still in space. Him and Iverson exchange pleasentries, and I can't help but smile. Even when its obvious that he'd rather be any were else, he still manages to be polite. I step away from my family, planning to introduce them to Keith, when something unexpected happens.

James fucking Griffin pulls off his helmet and walks over to Keith. "What the hell Keith? Where have you been the last five years? I finally get the guts to ask you out, and you fucking dissappear! If you didn't want to go out with me you could've just said so! You didn't need to go to fucking space!" He yells, obviously hurt. Wait, he asked Keith out? I was supposed to do that. I wanted to do that. "James I didn't mean to-" Keith says, trying to explain himself. "But you did! I waited for hours you beautiful idiot! Then I find out that you disappeared in the middle of the night, and think that you're dead for three and a half fucking YEARS! I only find out your fucking alive when you're in part of Pidge's video thing! You couldn't have said something?" James looked like he was about to cry, and everyone was staring at him and Keith. "James I'm sorry I-" "You just had to do it, didn't you? Mess with me. Did you even wanna go out? You didn't, did you? Why do you keep screwing with my feelings? I FUCKING LOVED YOU! But you always had to be better than me at everything. To be first, be the best you fucking asshole." Keith looked so sad. "James, I'm sorry, I really did want to go with you but-" 

James cut him off by cupping his face and pulling him into a passionate kiss. Keith's eyes widened in shock at first, but he soon melted into it. James pulled back, expression grim. "I know that probably didn't mean anything to you, but it means the world to me. I loved you Keith, and for some reason I still do. So next time something doesn't go your way, don't fucking run away." Then he stormed off, a mixture of emotions on his face.

I stared at Keith, who was red in the face and staring at James as he walked away. Keith and James were a thing? But I wanted me and Keith to be a thing. This did not just happen. "Uh, what just happened?" Pidge asked, saying what we were all thinking. "I don't know." Veronica said. "But I'm going to find out." Her and the other MFES followed James, while me and the other paladins, plus Allura, Coran and Adam surrounded Keith, who was still in shock. "What was that all about?" Adam asked. Keith's face fell, and he began to cry. He fell into Adam and Shiro, shaking. They held him, concerned parent looks on their faces. 

What had happened? I thought, looking at Keith. Was the boy I loved in love with someone else?
