Having learned from Carl how to use the cell phone, Yuli kept stealing the device from him every once in a while to try to reach Candace. At first the girl answered thinking it was her friend but she quickly learned that it was Yuli wanting to talk to her. In the beginning Candace talked to him politely for a while but then she stopped answering his calls altogether leaving Yuli quite desperate. There were only a few days left and he was slowly running out of ideas.
It was presented much easier in the movies. All one had to do to win someone over was to at least pretend to be nice. But that had failed Yuli quite spectacularly. It was time to pull out the big guns and if the high school movies had taught him anything it was that a prom night was the most magical, and almost mythical experience where the chance of someone confessing their love was significantly increased. It also taught him that it couldn't be called a prom if Time After Time wasn't played at least once.
Yuli didn't know how to go about organizing such event just yet but once he figured it out he would orchestrate a prom to end all proms. Meanwhile he had to work on getting a new victim which was getting increasingly more difficult. Apparently people of the town were hiding in their houses, away from him. And the ones that were forced to wander the streets were terrified of him even though they didn't even know what he looked like.
He was confident that there was something that would make his life that much easier but that was also something that he would figure out. And once everything was under his control there would be nothing stopping him from fulfilling his plan, making his dream come true.

It was the sunlight coming through the window that woke Robin up. For a while she couldn't remember much. All she knew was that it wasn't her bedroom and that she felt weird, weak and hollow. Looking around she realized that it was the guest room and she was in the bed with her brother sitting on the edge of it and Yuli combing his ginger hair in front of the mirror.
It was a truly bizarre picture – the three of them together. Like a beginning of some joke. Carl had her back turned to her but when the girl moved in the sheets, he looked at her. Robin frowned when she noticed how bad he looked. His face was not only pale but also somehow gray and there were dark circles under his eyes, as if he hadn't slept for days,
"Good morning." Robin murmured, still unable to make sense of her surroundings. Hearing that Yuli turned to her and the corners of his mouth turned up in an easy smile. Contrary to Carl, the boy looked significantly better than he had for the last couple of days. His bloodshot eyes were gone and both his hair and skin looked much healthier. "What happened?" She asked but then her gaze landed on the bandage on her arm and everything immediately came back to her.
The initial fear that vanished almost instantly when she remembered the girl that seemed to be having an orgasm while Yuli was drinking her blood. She was almost giddy as both her and her brother joined Yuli in bed and felt like it was the biggest privilege that it was her that Yuli had chosen to be first.
All the anger and shame caused by their previous encounter were gone the second Yuli's fangs bit into her flesh. She could feel the sharpness, the pressure but it didn't cause any kind of pain. Instead she an overwhelming sense of calmness wash over her. She felt relaxed, like she was high on something. Even if an asteroid hit Earth that instant she wouldn't notice as long Yuli continued to do what he was doing.
And now that the feeling was gone Robin found herself craving more of it. "Do you need more blood?" The girl asked, ready to tear off the bandage for Yuli to rip her wound back open.
"You'll die if he takes any more of your blood." Carl said softly, his gaze darting to Yuli for a second before it landed back on his sister. "I've already asked." He added in a quiet voice, as if ashamed. Robin quickly understood that he felt exactly the same as she did. "You need to get some calories in. We both do." He added. "Let's go for some breakfast."
