Sapphire and Ruby Book 2

Part 3!!!

I know it's been forever since I've written a chapter on here. I have had a ton going on. I had more hours at work and then I lost my computer charger. Yes, I'm doing this on my computer. I find it easier. But anyways. I hope you'll like this chapter. Love you guys! ❤️️

Everything went silent. Rose tried to get Sapphire off of the floor. She pulled away and continued to cry silently. All of a sudden they heard something. 

"Where... Is... Sapph...?" 

Sapphire gasped. She practically ran back to the room with Rose trying to stop her. Rose blocked the doorway.

"Rose. Move! I have to see her!" Sapphire pleaded. 

"You... You can't. She isn't stable right now. The doctors have to do their jobs." 

"But she asked for me! I have to see her! I have to see if she's okay!" 

"I assure you, she is fine. Now you need to leave." 

"No!" She yelled. She shoved Rose aside and rushed through the doorway. 

"Sapph!" Ruby tried to sit up but pain erupted through her body.  Sapphire rushed over and hugged Ruby gently. Rose leaned against the doorway. 

"I thought you weren't going to make it. It looked so bad." 

"Sapph... It's okay. I'm okay." 

"Ruby, I love you. I don't know what I would do if I lost you." Rose gasped quietly. 

"You-- You love me?" Ruby stammered. 

"Yes." 

Ruby pulled Sapphire close. Their faces inches apart. Sapphire looked her in the eyes and leaned in closer. They kissed in a soft gentle kiss that was different than any kiss Ruby had ever felt.

Perry decided to go check up on Ruby only to see Rose standing in the doorway looking at something. He peeked in the window and saw Sapphire and Ruby kissing. His heart shattered. 

"Of course it was her... I should have known! I feel like such an idiot! How could Ruby like another girl? That's just... Not natural." 

He walked to Rose and pulled her aside. 

"What are we going to do about this? We can't let them just do that." He started. 

"What do you mean? We can't let them be in love?" Rose asked.

"Love? Ha, they can't love each other. They are girls."

"And your point is?"

"Girls can't be in love with girls, that's not how it works." 

"Anybody can love anybody. And if you have a problem with that then I'll gladly have a chat with you about it. Leave them be." 

"You talk like you're in love with someone." 

"Because I was. They were killed 5 years ago right in front of me. The only person there for me after that was Pearel." 

"What do you mean they? Was it a boy or a girl?"

"They were neither and all genders at the same time. They were an inspiration." 

"I can't take this. I'm going back to my room." With that said he stormed off. He was still in love with Ruby. 

He was marching down the hall when he stopped at the bounty hunter's room. He walked in. "Hey, Obsidian. Feeling better?" 

"What do you think, Per?" His gruff voice cracked. He was laying in the bed burns covered his body from head to toe. 

"Oh, sorry. I thought I'd check up on you." He looked down.

He growled as he rolled over to face Perry. "What's wrong? You look upset."

"The love of my life... Love's another girl." He said looking up and gritting his teeth in the end.

"Well, she can't help who she fell in love with. If she could she probably wouldn't have. You know how Ruby is. She hates being... Involved with someone." He tried to explain it simply since he knew how Perry thought. 

"But, it's another girl, Obsidian. Another girl!" He put his head in his hands. 

"Perry, look at it this way. You meet someone who is everything you've ever wanted in a lover. Think about that for a minute. Would it then matter about the gender?" 

Perry looked up at him. "I guess not. It just seems so... Unnatural." 

"Its completely normal for people to fall in love with whoever they want. It's up to you to accept that and try to understand instead of being disgusted and upset." 

"I guess you're right." He looked really sad for a minute, "Hey, Obsidian... I have to move on now... Don't I?" 

Obsidian reached his hand out as best as he could while grimacing because of the pain. His hands and parts of his face were the only parts not covered by the burns. Perry took his hand and knew the answer.
