Sapphire and Ruby Book 2

Part 5!!!!

"Sapph... Sapph... Sapph. Sapph! Are you okay?" Sapphire opened her eyes and saw Ruby standing next to her. Ruby looked different. Instead of Ruby's normal red-brown eyes and dark red hair, she had blue eyes and dark brown hair. She blinked and Ruby was gone. She began looking around but didn't know where she was at all. The room kept changing colors and designs. They looked like the former rooms she lived in. Then the color locked on a faint blue-grey tone with double doors that led to a balcony. She walked out and saw she was on her homeworld, otherwise known as Junea. She saw Dimony down beneath in the garden. When Dimony noticed her she waved. Sapphire was so confused. Wasn't she on the ship with everyone else? She realized she had seen this before. She wondered if the rebels and all of that was a dream. That's when she got pushed. She felt herself going off the edge and plummeting to the ground below. The last face she saw was Perry's as everything went dark. 

Sapphire woke with a start. She noticed the heart monitor next to her. It wasn't beeping but still showed her heartbeat. She glanced around and saw she was in her room. She thought back to what had happened. Explosion... Bodies... The vision... Blood... She sighed. There was a slight knock on the door as it slid open. Crystal was there holding a tray with some water, nausea pills, and toast. 

"Oh, you're awake!" She gave out a big sigh, "I was worried you weren't going to wake up for a long time after you hit your head as hard as you did. It only took three, four, maybe five days. I don't know for sure but it was long enough to find a possible planet for us to relocate on."

Sapphire gave a confused look, "I hit my head? Wait how did I get here? What happened?" 

"Well, you passed out after they brought the bodies away from the observation deck. Apparently, it was an accidental explosion. They blamed it on faulty gear or something. They had made us new weapons and some involved some different mixed chemicals and one thing led to another. We all had to hand our plasma pineapples in for adjustments." 

"Pineapples? What?" Sapphire had an amused yet confused look. 

Crystal laughed, "They called them pineapples because of their grooved surfaces. But, anyway, as I was saying, Rose told me to bring you to your quarters while she went with the bodies to the infirmary. I took care of you while you were out. You kept murmuring something too. It was something like Ruby look out and I can't. There were some other things too but I don't remember what they were. Oh! I also went back to the observation deck to check on the damage. My main concern was that the giant window was broken but to my surprise, it wasn't. Looks like this ship is better built than I thought." She laughed softly. 

Sapphire smiled slightly as she sat up. She immediately felt sick to her stomach and her head started spinning. 

"Woah! Go slower. You hit your head really hard... Here," Crystal said while handing over the nausea pills, "This'll help. I figured you'd need these. I've hit my head a time or two." She laughed.  

Sapphire looked down at the cup of water. "Did anyone die in the explosion?" 

Crystal went quiet for a minute and explained, "The soldier that had the faulty weapon was killed instantly and the other one was badly injured. Pearel was the injured one. If she recovers we'll get to hear what really happened."

Sapphire continued looking down, "And, how's Ruby?" 

"Oh! I forgot! Ruby is actually out of the infirmary now. I'll send her by. She got out yesterday so her room could be used for Pearel. It was the critical care room anyways." Crystal looked at her wrist device. She tapped it and a holographic time popped up above her arm along with a schedule. "Looks like it's time for my training. I'll send Ruby by later and tell you guys about the landing preparations," Crystal said while standing up and walking toward the door. She did a little wave as she stepped out of the room.

Hey, SassyKat here! Sorry, this has taken so long to write. I went through a huge phase of writer's block. BUT! I'm back now and I should be able to write more frequently. Bare with me though if I hit writer's block again. Hope you enjoyed this part!
