"Mom?"

As soon as the words leave my mouth, a little hesitantly, she snaps her head towards my voice, the corners of her eyes pricking with unshed tears. She walks up to me, caressing my head. "What is it honey? Do you need me to call the doctor?"

"Where is Oscar?"

She sighs and lowers herself down on my bed, holding her hand in mine. "He will be here soon honey. I've already informed him that you woke up last night."

"Where is he, mom?"

"He's gone back to his hometown. It's supposed to be his grandfather's funeral today."

How cruelly fate plays it's cards. I'm not with him when he needs me the most and he's not here when I need him the most. Even though I don't remember him.

I wipe my face with the back of my hand and turn to the next page.

Hey gorgeous

I miss you and I'm tired. I'm so tired that I just want to sleep and never wake up. Because if I do, I know you won't be here, next to me.
