College Best Friends (A Gerard way Fanfic)

Day After

(Gerard's POV)

Well, that was something. Like that's really an understatement. Ok, so I want to start a band. I'm going to call up my friend, Ray Toro, and some other friends. But first... I need to write a song. Ok, let's get to work.

I can't. I'm too worried. Jacks needs someone. She's tough but when she answered the phone she was crying and when I answered... she was crying. I love her so much and we are finally talking. I didn't bring up the letter cause I didn't want to make her upset or something. Now is not the time to talk about that.

My phone is ringing. I pick it up.

"Hello?"

"Gerard, I can't do this. I can't be in the city. I can't be with my family. I'm too much of a mess. I don't know what to do," Jacks cried.

"Ok, calm down. Pack your stuff and get on a ferry to New Jersey. I'll meet you when it docks."

"W-why can't you come get me?"

"Because, I don't think they're gonna let anyone into the city."

"I don't know what to do," she sobbed.

"I'll call Katy to come help you pack and take you to the ferry, ok?"

"OK."

"Bye."

"Bye." I hung up.

"I love you," I said out loud to nobody.

I tried to remember Katy's number and dialed it. It's ringing... it's ringing... "Hello?"

"Katy, it's Gerard."

"Gerard? How are you and your family. Wh- is Jack ok?"

"I'm physically ok and so is my family, we are all a little in shock. How are you? Jacks is not great. I need you to help her pack and get on a ferry to Jersey. I'll take care of her from then."

"Same as you. Ok... what happened to her?"

"She saw them fall and her father had a meeting and her family hasn't heard back from him."

"Oh god. Why wouldn't she go to her family?"

"She says she's too much of a mess. She doesn't want to worry them or anything."

"I see, ok. We'll head over to her apartment and help her pack."

"Take care of her and call me when she's on her way over."

"Will do. Bye, Gerard."

"Bye, Katy."

I walked upstairs. My family was at the kitchen counter.

""Good morning, Gerard," My mom greeted.

"Good morning. Um, Jacklyn is going to stay with us if that's ok? She doesn't want to be in New York right now."

"That's fine, Sweetheart."

"Wait, so you and her made up," Mikey asked.

"In these circumstances, I don't care. All I care about is if she is ok and right now she's not doing too great. Anyways, I'm going to clean my room." I headed back downstairs and got to work.

My phone started ringing so I answered right away.

"Hello?"

"It's Katy. Jack just got on the ferry so you better leave your house right now."

"Ok, thank you. Bye."
