Chapter 10 The Initiative

Mia's PoV:-

I had the yummiest, the tastiest burger of my life. My sides were hurting from laughing for more than an hour. My legs were hurting from jumping and running all around the park when Adwin was chasing me for a bite of my burger. God. He hass an appetite, after eating his burger he wanted more, and he took the large size burger already, mine was small. I wouldn't share that with the hippopotamus.

We were walking in the park, talking about this and that, enjoying the moment to the fullest.

All of a sudden, a question raised inside me, to ask but I wasn't even sure whether I should or not.
Ignoring the doubt, I asked , "What do you wish to become? Emm as in what do you want in your future?"
I was walking but He stopped, thinking about something. I turned around to look at him, I raised my eyebrows in a questioning manner, I looked at his eyes, which were now shining, "A singer" he whispered really softly.

"Really???? Wow, that's what I wanted when I was young. " I replied before I could stop myself.

"Why not now?" he asked looking at me inquisitively.

"Emmm.... I... I don't have ...that confidence." I whispered my head hanging low.

"And why is that?" he asked closing the gap between us. He was now only inches away from me, still not touching me. He slowly raised his hand, placing it at my chin and raising it softly. I noticed that I didn't flinch, again'.

"I.... I ....sorry I can't answer that" I confessed closing my eyes.

"You know what, it's not that difficult to be unbroken again" he whispered really softly.

My eyes rose frantically towards him, meeting with his. I gulped, I wanna try something but I don't know if I should. I wanna touch his lips with mine, just a peck.

I closed my eyes, "I...I....am haphephobic, it's fear of being touched" I whispered.

He sighed loudly, "I know that. Were...were you I mean, were you assaulted ?" He hesitated.

I shut my eyes even more tightly when his words were out of his mouth. He knows I am impure. He knows I am a dirt. He knows it all. The only person, who can touch me, will despise me because of my past.

"Hey, I am sorry. I didn't want to make you uncomfortable. Mia. I am sorry. " I heard his worried voice. I opened my eyes, which were wet already. I nodded. "It's ok."
I walked past him, leaving him behind. He tried to hurry and walk beside me after a few minutes.

"Hey ... Señorità. Don't leave me alone. I need ya" he whined.

I laughed at how his whining sounded. He touched my hand very lightly and I held his hand confidently. I am not gonna leave this hand.

"I am not gonna leave this hand, ever, Señorità" he whispered looking at me.

I smiled blushing.

We sat there on the grass for a few more minutes, but when the sun set, I knew it was our gue to leave this place. It was going to  get colder anyway.

"Let's get going it's getting late" I said.

"Yeah. We should get going" he said grabbing my hand and pulling me up , I cleaned the dust off my butt and so did Adwin.

He opened the passenger side of the car door for me, ohh gentleman!

When we reached home, Kate and Shawn were already there, smirking at us.
Kate gave me a you-owe-me-an-explanation look and Shawn was smirking playfully.
I sighed rolling my eyes, "Hi guys" I greeted them.
