Chapter 44 #AdMia

Mia's PoV:-

I fluttered my eyes open, but instantly blinked back , adjusting the brightness. I felt a hand on my tummy, and Adwin's murmuring against my ears.
"I am so sorry baby. Please wake up. We need you"

I raised my hand weakly and kept it on his head, he raised his head immediately and my hand fell onto the bed  flimsily "Mia. Oh Mia you scared me" he said kissing my lips. "Wa-ter" I stuttered , my throat being hoarse, it was to difficult to speak.

"Oh...emm.. I don't know should I give you or not. I will call the doctor, please could you please wait a moment, baby?" I nodded closing my eyes due to heaviness I was feeling already.

I heard some noises and soon when I opened my eyes next a doctor was standing beside me, Adwin grabbed my hand in his hand from the other end. I saw a nurse standing beside him.

"Hey, I am Dr. Stephen, the intern here. Your doctor is on rounds, so she will be here soon, Miss Johnson. Ok so firstly, are you feeling any unusual thing? Any uneasiness or pain?" He asked.

I shook my head,  "just thirsty an-d hun-gry" I answered honestly.

"Oh that's usual. I will check your bp and then you can have your water and food. No issues" he smiled and started doing his work.

The nurse helped into a sitting position, the doctor checked my bp , pulse rate and breathing.
After he was satisfied with the check up, he asked the nurse to get me some mineral water and a lot of salad.
"Miss Mia, I think you should be ready for the ultrasound in a few hours"

"Ultrasound? But for what?"  I asked crunching up my eyebrows.

His eyes looked over at something , behind me, I turned around and saw that something was my fiancé . I looked at both of them waiting eagerly for either of them to speak up but they didn't.

After a few glances at each other, the doctor nodded, "I should leave that to your Fiancé"he muttered and left.

I groaned when he left, "I want some real food Adwin not the salad please. And what was about this ultrasound. ?"

"Mia, I will have to wait for the doctor's approval, just eat this and then promise I will bring you whatever you're gonna ask"

I rolled my eyes, "Mia, I think you should wait for the doctor to come and talk to you about the em... ultrasound" he continued.

"Adwin, you are scaring me. Am I ok? Am I suffering from some sort of illness?" I asked expectantly.

"Emm... actually... I..emmm...you are pregnant" he whispered.

My eyes widened and tears started streaming down my eyes in an instant, how could he make this a joke.

"Really? Adwin. You think joking about such thing will be better?" I asked wiping my tears roughly.

"What? Mia you are 9 weeks preg----"
I couldn't resist and I don't know why I did it but I actually slapped him for making fun of me like this. He would stoop this low,! How could he?

"After I told you about me. You are here telling me jokes about me being pregnant.? You can't be so inhumane. Adwin. I CAN'T GET PREGNANT. " I yelled.

His eyes were in shock and he was almost gonna burst angrily any moment. I could see that.

"But. Mia. Why would I make such a joke about it. ?" He asked raising his voice a little.

"So. You are saying that being pregnant when my tubectomy has been done is possible?" I yelled.

He opened his mouth but I stopped him from letting him say anything further by raising my hand.

"You can't expect me to give you babies. EVER. I AM NOT a normal person, Adwin. When I was 16 my tubectomy was done at some hospital by my own mother. Illegally . So that I won't carry children of her stepson. Do you hear me Adwin? Can You HEAR me clearly now, Adwin. I CAN'T GIVE YOU ANY BABIES. " I yelled breathing heavily.

His eyes were glistering with un-shed tears and he was giving me a sympathetic look. I hated that look. He knows this. Still.

I grabbed my hand  and pulled out the needles roughly from my wrist, "Mia. Stop it. You will hurt yourself" his voice came as if from far end. I ignored him and tried to stand straighter , as soon as my feet touched the floor, and I stood, everything started moving around me , dizziness engulfing me. I felt his arms swooping me and making me sat back on the bed. "Mia. Just give it a time for god sake. Your body needs support please.

I didn't open my eyes but lied down on the bed as he helped me into. He pecked my lips and kissed my forehead ever so lightly.

Suddenly there was a light knock on the door, and my eyes opened instantly. I saw from my peripheral vision a lady walking in doctor's attire. I ignored her , "Mia" as soon as I heard Mrs. Singh's voice my eyes opened wider and I gazed at her smiling face.

"Mia." She repeated probably because my eyes were focused on her rather than greeting her. ..

"Mrs. Singh. ?"

"Mia. Listen. I want you to be very carefully listening to me. Now. "

I nodded looking over at Adwin whose eyes were still shining brightly yet were somehow full of grievance.

"Mia. I am sorry for everything. I know about the tubectomy. "

My eyes widened and turned towards her instantly, afraid of speaking anything. I stared at her trying to show as little of my fear about it as possible.

She smiled at me lightly with glum look on her anyways bright face.

"Mia. Your tubectomy was done at an early age. I can see that. For its full effect it should be done on either sides. But somehow only right side of your ovary is blocked due to tubectomy. And because of...emm...emm...ehem.."

"Rape?" I spoke on seeing her hesitation.

"Yes. Because of that your left side ovary was blocked upto 90%. Em... And so. You had a very grim chance that is around 5% chances of getting pregnant. And emm... you are 9 weeks pregnant" she said smiling.

My eyes darted towards Adwin whose eyes were shining with tears. His mouth turned upwards, smiling brightly at me. I guiltily smiled at him with apologetic eyes.

"But. Mia. This baby will have to fight the world to be with us. ?"

"Why? What do you mean by that?

"Mia. Your body is too weak to give birth. You have to fight yourself, your womb , your strength for this baby. Mia. I won't let anything happen to you. I promised Adwin. I won't let anything happen to your baby. But. I need your promises . You have to follow my every instruction. "

I nodded , and felt a light kiss on my forehead. I turned my eyes and met with the most beautiful eyes shining brightly with happiness.

"Señorità. I need your support. Please. "

I cried unable to digest all those things they told me.

He pulled me in a hug kissing my forehead, I sobbed in his chest even more feeling the warmth of my love.

"You are the reason of my existence, please be strong. "

I nodded wiping my tears and he kissed my lips.
