Percy didn't fight the sigh that slipped from her lips, as she plopped onto her bed. She rolled over so she was facing sideways, and leaned forward to grab her phone. it beeped even before she reached it.

'Roy'  she thought. the thought alone made her hart skip a beat. she unlocked her phone and opened her messages. She scrolled to her recants, and clinked on her boyfriend's contact.

'Hey'

'Can we call?'

Puzzled and with a sinking feeling she called him. It didn't even ring twice before the line opened

"Hey. Are you alone?"

Her face shortchanged in confusion but she replied in affirmative.

"Roy, are you ok? Is there something wrong? You know you can tell me, whatever it is we-"

"Perce...i'm fine."

"Oh" she blushed. "Sorry, what did you what to talk about?"

"I-I I've just been thinking...about us."

"What about us, I mean were good, right? This new team won't changing anything between us?"

He winced across the line.

"Roy?" Her voice was low, dreading the answer.

"I love you, it's just that. Well, I we never really fit right, and you'll be with the league." He rambled. She froze, her hands shacking. There very few things he could be leading up to. None of which she liked.

"Roy, w-what are you saying..?"

"I think.."He took a deep breath. "We should break up." The phone hit the soft carpeted floor. Dimly she could hear Roy's frantic words of explanation. Her hands clung to her "Dory" shirt. It was't till she could hear Roy's frantic yelling that she came back to reality. Quickly she snatched the phone before anyone else heard.
"Roy! Shut up. I'm fine." She hissed, she wasn't but she did not want her brother or father figure in her room just then, she'd go to them later. She could practically hear his wince, 'good' she thought 'darkly He deserves to feel a bit of my pain.'

"Right. Listen, I know this is sudde-" He didn't get to finish, as the phone l beeped twice. Signaling the end of the call.

Persephone Wayne Jackson ended the call, in petty sweet revenge.
