after lunch time and seeing all
the baby photos mrs. miya had
to show you, osamu took you
out to explore the neighbourhood
with you.

like always, you two walked
hand in hand, taking in the
light breeze and the warmth
of the afternoon sun.

he took you to all the places
he and his team used to visit,
the convenience store that
had the best popsicles, the
places he and atsumu would
play at when they were younger,
and finally a place he held dear
in his heart.

when he was sad, especially
in high school, he visited a
river near his home where he'd
sit and listen to the water run
and the nature around him live.

he'd spend hours just by himself,
thinking and sometimes even
napping, letting the negativity
in his mind sink away for the
moment with the passing water.

this place was special for him
and he wanted it to be special
for you, too.

"i used to visit here whenever
i needed to clear my head."

he let out a content sigh and
sat himself down on the grass,
extending his legs and leaning
back against his hands.

he looked up at you and motioned
you to join him.

you did so, dropping your small
bag down and eventually laying
down with your head on his lap.

he laughed at how comfortable
you got, pleased with what you
did.

"must be nice to have a place
like this one all to yourself."

"kinda like a safe space where
you can just relax, huh?"

osamu hummed and glanced
down at you, seeing how you
had relaxed and closed your
eyes.

miya osamu
"this place gets extra cool
when the sun sets and it
makes the entire area look
golden."

you hummed, smiling warmly.

"hearing the water run is
relaxing and hearing the frogs,
and the birds, and everything
else... it makes me feel a bit
more alive."

osamu chuckled.

miya osamu
"yeah, i felt the same way."

miya osamu
"feel the same way."

you opened your eyes and
osamu sat straight, hunching
forward to look down at you
and hold your cheek in one
of his hands.

miya osamu
"you're the first person i've
taken here with me."

miya osamu
"usually i'm just alone."

"yeah?"

you smiled up at him.

"i'm glad that i'm the one who
gets to experience this all
with you again."

"i'm glad you're sharing it with
me and that you're letting me
learn even about the past you."

miya osamu
"past me needed someone
like you."
