Hello everyone! This is my first fanfic ever so I hope you enjoy. This chapter is a little bit like an introduction. I swear it'll be more interesting as the chapters come.

Harry was cautiously walking into the Forbidden Forest under his invisibility cloak. His wand drawn as he took small steps, each step bringing him closer to complete darkness. The boy walked past a few fallen branches. Chuckling as he thought about Grawp, who liked to pull them out of the ground. Harry wondered how the giant was doing now that the Battle of Hogwarts had ended. Hagrid hadn't talked about Grawp after the Battle. Probably because he didn't want to bother the mourning people.
Harry had now entered a part of the Forest that was pitch black. Even if his eye vision was slightly better, he still wouldn't have been able to see a single thing. For some reason, the darkness didn't stop him from walking. He was a gryffindor after all and gryffindors don't just walk away from something as stupid as darkness.
He only stopped when he heard a voice. It was the same voice he had heard right after Lily and James Potter got killed. "I really thought he would come. It would've made everything easier." The voice said a little confused.
Harry didn't know why but he ran towards the sound and suddenly threw off the Cloak as he walked into a part of the Forest that was not overgrown by plants and trees. "I did come." Harry simply said with a lump in his throat.
Harry looked into the fiery red eyes. "I'm not afraid anymore, I will greet death as an old friend. Something you'll never be able to do. As you're such a coward you made horcruxes." After saying that he felt a little bit more at ease than before. He had to die anyway, it was the only way Voldemort could be destroyed forever.
The man had a grin on his nose-less face. His snake-like eyes full of hate as he looked at the boy who had lived way longer than Voldemort could have ever imagined. He raised his wand without hesitation and screamed. "AVADA KADAVRA."

Harry jolted up from his bed and his eyes flew open. He had numerous nightmares ever since the encounter with Voldemort had happened. He never told anyone about the nightmares because he didn't want people to think he had gone mad. He didn't want to show how vulnerable he actually was. Harry knew Voldemort was dead. The horcruxes were destroyed and Harry himself had killed him. But sadly, that knowledge didn't trick his brain into stopping the nightmares.
Harry came back to take an 8th year at Hogwarts. So did Ron and Hermione and in all honesty, that was the main reason he chose to come back for another year. Hermione had reunited with her parents after the Battle and she was still in a relationship with Ron. The red haired boy was doing better a few months after Fred's death. But he also had nightmares about it. Harry knew because he could hear Ron cry or scream in his sleep. He felt bad for Ron and for the many others who lost their loved ones during the battle. All just because they were fighting for Harry.
Wide awake and unable to fall asleep, Harry decided to silently leave the dorm in the Gryffindor Common Room. He didn't want to wake Ron because he knew Ron would have trouble falling asleep after waking up in the middle of the night. Harry walked to the portrait and whispered "gargoyle" to the Fat Lady, who let him through after yawning.
Harry knew he wasn't allowed to walk around after curfew, Professor McGonagall had said so herself. Since the battle was over and there were no big consequences other than getting detention, Harry decided it wouldn't be that bad to be up past curfew. He'd survived worse than just 2 hours of detention.
He just really needed some time to clear his mind. Though he knew clearing his mind wasn't one of his strong suits. Not only Hermione told him that numerous times, Snape did as well. The raven haired boy was now walking up one of the 142 stairscases. A strand of moonlight would occasionally shine on his face or light up a staircase. The stars were shining so bright today, that all Harry could think of was Sirius.
Up until this day he still wondered if Sirius would've survived if Harry had been able to learn Occlumency. He could've blocked Voldemort's trap and Sirius would've still been alive. He was the only person that was somewhat related to him. Only 2 years after getting to know the man who was his godfather, he already unexpectedly had to say goodbye. It was unfair. But so is everything else in life.
Harry had always wondered what it would've been like if he had survived. What it would've been like to live with Sirius and finally have the caring and loving family he never had. Harry wiped a tear away. Now was not the time to regret his decisions. He couldn't have known what was about to happen. An old man had learned Harry that making mistakes is human, and everyone makes mistakes, even the wisest people do.
Harry was now almost at the top of the Astronomy Tower, the highest tower at Hogwarts, and also the place where Harry saw how Snape killed Dumbledore. But even after that event, the Tower was a place where he felt calm. He hadn't been there all school year, but tonight he felt the urge to go there.
Harry walked up the last few steps of the stairs. He moved his eyes up to the railing and there he saw a figure standing with their back to Harry. Not aware of the raven haired boy that was cautiously walking right behind them. The person was standing with their hands on the rails, looking at the bright moon that was reflecting its moonlight on the Black Lake. Harry couldn't really see who it was as the person was standing in the light of the moon. All Harry could see was that the person was taller than him, and dressed in black. He really couldn't see anything else.
Harry cautiously tippy toed closer and just when he was only a few meters away from them, Harry's wand slipped out of his pyjama's and fell onto the ground with a sound too loud for this quiet moment. The person who was first oblivious to Harry's presence now immediately turned around with their wand drawn.
