I was carted out the back door over to a carriage waiting. Finally away from the blinding lights, my headache dimmed. The night air was clear and the trees swayed slightly in the light breeze. I was pushed into the carriage where there lurked a man inside.

He raised an eyebrow at me, his light brown hair sweeping over his face slightly. He reached out grabbing my face and turning it every which way examining me. Seemingly satisfied he let me go and I fell back into the plush seats of the carriage.

"Are you my master?" I questioned.

"No."

"Then who is?"

"Duke Travis. An esteemed vampire."

I stared idly out the window, imagine being this powerless. All I could do was hope that this Duke Travis was a good person.

Eventually the carriage arrived at a large estate, I wasn't very surprised. To buy me he must have had a lot of money. The carriage door opened and I stepped out, but due to my tied hands I wobbled and fell, but the man caught me helping me stand up. His cold brown eyes are ever unchanging.

"Be careful."

They led me into a room and cut the rope around my wrists before practically tossing me in. I couldn't help but notice fresh blood on the floor. What the man in the carriage said flashed through my brain.

"Duke Travis is difficult to please. If he dislikes you, you will leave that room as a corpse."

I shuddered slightly, trying to think of how I could make this person I'd never met before like me.

Not long passed that dark room before I heard hurried footsteps and the doors slammed open. I looked over, and in the doorway was a tall, imposing man with dark black hair and even darker red eyes. He seemed amused at my position on the floor, and he strood over towards me.

"Get up. Why are you kneeling on the floor like some sort of pauper." he admonished me harshly while leaning down to examine my facial features.

"...They threw me in here my lord..." I admitted...having come face to face with the guy there was no doubt he was the Master of the house. There also no doubt...he wouldn't hesitate to kill me if necessary.

He grit his teeth, "Idiots. I specifically asked them to be gentle. And they didn't even offer you a change of clothes..."

"Sir..." I lightly gripped his hand, "Why am I here?" I looked up at him.

A faint tinge of pink came to his pale cheeks, but it quickly vanished and he cleared his throat before standing up and plopping on a luxury couch crammed full of pillows. He gestured for me to come closer and so I did.

"Are you a vampire?" he questioned.

I nodded, "I didn't quite believe it, but I seem to have become one..."

He raised an eyebrow high, "Become one? Am I to assume you weren't always one?"

"Yes sir...I'm not from here actually...I'm from a land far away, but somehow I ended up here and found I had become a vampire."

His face fell as he gazed at me with clear annoyance. Since we weren't very far apart he reached out for me and placed me on his lap.

"How insulting. Rather than make up such a trashy story, you could have just declined to explain yourself. If I can't trust you to tell the truth in regards to such a simple matter, can I even trust you are a vampire?", he growled clearly angered.

He pulled down my jaw, forcing my mouth wide open and revealing a pair of extremely sharp fangs. With this irrefutable proof he released me, causing me to fall even more forward against him.
