✧ GOD DAMN RIGHT, YOU SHOULD BE SCARED OF ME ✧
༺♥༻
Brianna had always been aware that she was a horrendous lier. However, she was in no way prepared for Sarah Cameron to call her out on it.
Ever since her impromptu confrontation with the girl's brother, she had been questioned about the situation in nearly every waking moment. Sarah seemed intent on uncovering each detail–from how they met to how much money he was inevitably paying her to keep what had transpired a secret. But Brianna shrugged it off each time, repeating her story that she had simply needed to use the restroom. Neither of them believed it.
"What is it, his motorcycle? I already know he spent my dad's generator money on it."
Apparently, this boy had done a lot of things that needed to be kept secret. Sarah made this clear in her search for a genuine narrative.
Rafe, she had said–the name in itself sounding douchey–was a lier and a shit person. According to Sarah, he cared only about himself and screwed over everyone else. She warned Brianna to stay far away, didn't want her to end up as one of the girls he slept with and disposed of the next day.
And Brianna had nodded, eyes wide, taking in the information but having trouble processing it. She wasn't really one to form an opinion on someone based on the words of another. It just didn't seem fair.
Nonetheless, in an attempt to ease Sarah's mind for the time being, Brianna complied. She looked her friend dead in the eye and swore she wouldn't get involved with Rafe Cameron.

The universe had other her plans for her, apparently.
At least, that's what ran through her mind when she spotted the boy sauntering into her work the next day. His expression was characteristically smug, hair gelled back in a way that made her want to run over and mess it up to spite him. A couple guys with similarly arrogant expressions trailed behind him, and the group laughed obnoxiously as they made their way to an empty table. A table that she was meant to be serving.
She cursed inwardly, trying to mentally prepare herself for the disaster that was to come. A moment passed. She smoothed out her uniform, took a breath. And then she was striding toward the table with her chin held high.
When she reached it, they didn't even notice her presence.
"..I swear to God Top she's got you whipped. That shit's embarrassing."
Rafe spoke so loudly she wondered if the whole room could hear it. His blonde friend had his arms crossed defensively, leaning back in his chair as he mumbled a reply.
"'Least I'm actually capable of love. You're just-"
Brianna coughed loudly and three heads immediately turned to look at her. Suddenly she didn't like being under scrutiny. She took special precautions to avoid the gaze of one boy in particular, instead turning to his friends with her best customer service smile.
"G'morning boys. How may I take your order?"
The first two rattled a few things off the menu, and she nodded as she quickly filed them in her brain. However, after a few painful seconds with no reply from the other, she was forced to spare him a glance. Rafe was staring at her, a distant look on his face.
She blinked back at him, desperately wishing for the silence to end. His friends must have read her mind, because soon one of them was smacking the boy on the arm.
