TELL ME SOMETHING THAT I'LL FORGET

༺♥༻

The sun was hanging low in the sky by the time Brianna peddled back to the trailer.  Her shift had ended ages ago, but some asshole decided to stay an hour past closing time and she was forced to wait on his table. The guy hadn't even tipped well.

Given this, along with the fact that halfway through her trip home the sky opened up into a downpour, Brianna wasn't exactly in the best mood.

She threw open the trailer door, barreling toward the couch with the sole intention of collapsing for the night. But then a familiar figure was blocking her path. Of course, Barry had chosen this exact moment to be pissed at her.

"Where the hell have you been?"

Brianna came to halt, narrowing her eyes up at him. God, she really wasn't in the mood for his attitude.

"Work. Where do you think?"

With that she made a move to get around him, but Barry held her back.

"At work. Aight, I see.."

He paused then, letting out a cold laugh. A laugh that undoubtedly meant he was about to blow up on her.

"Work the reason you forgot about this shit, too?" he sneered.

Suddenly a thin slip of paper was being shoved up under her nose, and Brianna froze. It was the electric bill. Or rather, a notice that they had missed the payment and were now being charged with a shit ton of penalty fees.

"Shit, Barry I was busy. I'm sorry-"

She ran a hand through her hair, panic rising. She squinted again at the bill amount, and her nerves only grew more heightened.

"I don't think- I don't have enough to cover that right now."

Barry stared back at her, uncharacteristically calm. It was a little intimidating.

"Well no shit, Brianna."

His lip curled, and he returned the bill to his pocket slowly, like he was trying his best not to flip out.

"I ain't covering for your ass, so you better find a way to get some damn money. Soon."

Brianna recoiled at the statement.

"I'm sorry.. what?"

She stepped closer to Barry, her own anger rising to the surface.

"I've been covering for you since the second I got here because you won't spend your damn drug money on things we actually need."

Brianna threw a hand out to point toward the window.

"You really expect me to believe you couldn't buy groceries last week, but you bought a whole ass car the other day?"

Barry just blinked at her.  After a moment he backed down, shaking his head.

"You know I got other people to pay.  If I was late on a payment for them.."
