Only know you love her when you let her go

Our own Secret place

Brook slammed her body down into her bed not bothering to change into Pyjamas. Her eyes felt heavy and she closed them.

After she awoke the next morning Brooks Father opened her bedroom door
"Some kid named Aidan says he has your bag" he said
Brook thought about what he had just said, she realized she didn't know anybody named Aidan then remembering Adrian's name is it close to it. "I'll be done in 5" she told him.
Brook put on turquoise shorts that were slightly stained green with a white tank top from Garage, she put her hair in a loose braid and began to open her door.
She made her way down the creaky stair steps and smiled to the sight of Adrian standing in the front door holding her bag, he wore a plaid flannel with grey jeans today. Adrian looked at her the way every girl wants to be looked at.

"Hey Brook" he began "you forgot your bag yesterday so I decided to bring it back"
Brook walked towards him taking her bag he held out towards her. "Thank you" she smiled "I hoped you'd bring it back" Adrian half smiled "wanna hang?" He asked
"Let me ask my father" she answered.
Brook walked into her dad's office he had been looking at new houses in a city 2 hours away from their own, Brook frowned. "Father?" She began to say "why must we move" she said in a saddened tone, her father turned around giving her an apologetic facial expression.
"I'm sorry Brooklyn" he sounded sad "we just can't afford living here anymore"
Brook gave him a small smile "I'm sorry dad"
"It's okay honey, don't be sorry" he turned back around clicking to the next house.
"Can I go out and hang with him?" She quickly asked
Her father turned back around "alright" he nodded, and Brook gave him a hug and he began to hug her tighter.

Brook left his office and told Adrian to wait there while she would go get some socks on. She got grey ankle socks and put on her shoes addressing Adrian that she was ready.
They walked down the cobble stone pathway and began walking down the sidewalk, nobody spoke.

After reaching the end of the quiet street Adrian began "I must take you somewhere" looking into Brooks sparkling eyes.
"What do you mean?" She said confused
"I want to take you to this place I found when I was 10" he stuttered "it's this Meadow it's beautiful and I would like you to see it" he placed his right hand gently on her cheek smiling.
"Okay" Brook spoke "where is this beautiful meadow?" She looked up into his beautiful green as emerald eyes.
"I'll take you there" Adrian began saying excitedly "it will be our secret place somewhere where only we will go where nobody will bother us and nobody will be there except for you and I". Brook wanted to jump up and down with excitement but she just put a smile on her face and agreed that she would like to go.

They walked for 23 minutes arriving at the meadow that Adrian had explained earlier, it was beautiful; there were flowers everywhere. Brook looked at it in awe "it's so beautiful" she told him while smiling.
"Yes that's why I wanted to show you it" he spoke loudly but soft.
"I want to spend The rest of my summer here with you" he began telling her "I want to lay here in the flowers with you, playing with your hair while talking about our day" he kept rambling, "and then when summer ends we will still come in the fall until it gets cold" he said very excited while pulling Brook closer to his body, Brook frowned.
"What's wrong, do you not want too?" Adrian scratched his head.
"No that's not it" Brook frowned while looking down at the flowers.
"Then what is it" he questioned picking her chin up with his hands softly so that he was looking her in the eyes. Her eyes looked Full of despair and sadness and she began "I'm moving after Summer ends" she whispered. Adrian's face went from smiling big to frowning and looked down to the ground "are you serious?" he sadly asked "positive" Brook answered, after that they both went silent for awhile.
They sat down in their meadow's flowers trying to find the right words, then both began lying down next to each other watching the clouds pass by.
"I'm sorry" Brook cried "I should've told you earlier"
Adrian turned to face her, his eyes filled with tears but held them back "don't cry princess" he told her. Brook opened her closed eyes from crying, she sat up surprised. "Nobody has ever called me that" she sniffled.
Adrian smiled and wiped away the tears on her cheeks kissing her forehead.
Brook wanted to tell him that she loved him but was to scared, so she kept it to herself.
They cuddled in the flowers watching the sun set beautifully.
"Adrian I.." Brook began
"Yes what is it Brook?" He asked
She stood up. "I.." She spoke again trying to find the words she needed to say, "I have to go" she said instead of what she wanted to.
Adrian stood up "mustn't you go yet" he begged grabbing her hand.
Brook pulled away "I have to" she frowned and began to walk away.
"Meet me here tomorrow at 3!" He yelled to her hoping for a yes
"I'll try" Brook said while waving goodbye.

Adrian watched Brook walking away, she turned from a person to a shadow and then she disappeared into the darkness of the beginning of the meadow he couldn't see.
He laid there in the meadow looking at the dark sky thinking about Brook leaving. He frowned at his thoughts and began to close his eyes and opened them once more before getting up to leave.

Brook walked down her street and then up her cobblestoned pathway to her tiny house. Nicole welcomed her with a paper plane she made with Brooks name on the side. "Brooky I made this for you" Nicole jumped with happiness, Brook tried to smile but it was hard so she just hugged Nicole instead. "Thank you Nicole" Brook told her young sister who began to smile showing her missing front teeth.
Brook heated up some leftovers and ate them she did her dishes when she finished and took a shower. She put her pyjamas her mom bought her last Christmas on and went into her room to watch a movie on Netflix and fell asleep.
