You came home yesterday
Worry on your face
Couldn't wait to start talking
About the End Times stories you heard
Days and nights of horror and confusion
Major signs already passed
Children, masters of their parents
And bare-footed Bedouins competing to build tall buildings
Gog and Magog breaking the barriers
Unleashing terror
We thought of Google and Facebook
Their immense reach
Into our minds and psyche
Of how the sun will rise from the West
The Mahdi and Christ
Battling the Dajjal
You wondered whether he is already here
Sophistication masks evil like the reverse of Halloween costumes.
Men in suits and ties,
Architects of lies beyond belief.
Rivalling the Dajjal
His powers will be greater; far more sinister
He will play with your mind
Change your body
He will confuse right and wrong; truth and lies.
Perform endless miracles
Too much for a young mind.
"I hope I will die before that time"
Nothing is certain, my child
Except, this I know:
Your faith will be your saving grace
Your small acts of kindness a protective shield
Your knowledge will shine before you
And erase the scary darkness
And that sapling you hold in your hand
Plant it, even if the trumpet is blown!
Mercy will be the gift you cherish
And You, my dear will be ok
God willing.
