Dawn has finally arrived
and the night has
ceded its covers
to the faint whispers
of an imminent sunrise
Soon the vast spread before us
will be bathed in golden yellow
and the flutter of wings
and cacophony of sounds
Will replace the solitude
And dreams will vanish
Like the ghosts that dwelled
Within them
And give way to mortals
Who, like ghosts,
Disappear in the maze of temporality
And the sunrise with its myriad colours
Will be gone like the shadows
Of yesterday
Today will be another day of love and loss
Friendship and enmity
Work and play
And the farmer who planted the corn and the wheat
And the seeds of fruit-bearing trees
Sets down his scythe, exhausted
Awaiting the sunset
And the harvest of a new day
