In the name of God, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful

Our Lord - all praises, glory and might belong to You. Merciful and Compassionate; Powerful and Mighty; praises that befit the Majesty of your Countenance and and the Might of Your Dominion.

Peace and salutations on all your prophets, messengers of guidance and mercy,  and on the most beloved Messenger and Prophet, the descendant of Abraham and the final Prophet, Muhamamd son of Abdullah; and on his family, his companions and those who follow him and seek to emulate his excellent example until the end of time.

Peace and salutations on the women and men of paradise, those who have reflected Your divine light in this world and have returned to Your abode in the beautiful company of the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, the pious.

We thank You for the gift of life and the innumerable favours and grace you have bestowed on us. We  stand before You our Lord wholly dependent on Your grace and mercy, and knowing in our innermost hearts that You alone are aware of our fears, our anxieties and our distress in a troubled world; and that You alone are aware of our potential to be Your true vicegerents on this earth.

Our Lord we seek your help and your assurance in our endeavours; we seek sincerity in our actions; constancy in our good deeds; kindness in our actions, compassion in our relationships, love in our hearts towards others, humility in our achievements, the power to forgive as You forgive us; guidance in our affairs, contentment in our material possessions, excellence in our pursuits, quiet repose in the face of calamity, trust in Your judgement, faith in ourselves, resilience despite hardships, respect for each other and the natural world around us.

We sincerely ask You to enable us to lower the wings of mercy towards our parents and to grant mercy, dignity and honour to the elderly amongst us.

Direct our hearts to their wellbeing and their desire for companionship and love as they showered love on us when we were young.

Grant them the honour of a good sojourn in this life; and when your angel is ready to take their souls for their return to You, grant them a beautiful return.
