"Oi! Payne! You ready for the season?" a person from their school asked as they passed them on their way to the field. People were already there, and more were starting to show up. Liam and Harry's had a repuation for having one of the best uni teams in the state. So of course a lot of people would show up, and of course a lot of pressure would be on the two captains.

"We're going to State this year even if I have to hurt myself trying," Liam replied, already calculating different plays and positions in his head as they approached their destination. "Isn't that right Haz?"

"Yeah, were going to do this together. The team is ready, and I couldn't be any more proud." Harry said as he bounces on his toes readying himself for todays events.

They walked to the first field of the season. They weren't at home today, so as the two captains walked across the skywalkl, it gives them a chance to actually see the field from a really amazing view. "This is amazing..wow!" Harry says as he looks from the glass window and therbn turns his head to face Liam again.

"Makes you feel like your part of the World Cup or something." Liam says with a laugh at the end of his sentence.

The two make it down to the game grounds, and then just start setting up a meeting spot for the team. Niall was still at the main doors to direct the team to come to where Harry and Liam were setting up. Around them, other boys began to appear and when Harry checked his watch there were only thirty-five more minutes until the match would start. Harry nods and then zips his team jacket up a bit more. The weather was decent today, the sun set high in the sky but the clouds and the chill of the air was present as well. The wind wasn't an affect today, so it would be a really fair game.

The lights were shining, bright and wide, spreading across the field until the boys were under a halo, and the air was crisp, cold, showing the deep inhales and exhales of breath being taken by both the players and the fans who had come to the game, despite the chill.

There was a nervous tension that hung over the fake, green grass, settling in on the shoulders of both teams and the supporters on the silver bleachers. The two teams were huddled up on their respective sides, staying close to conserve body heat and to prepare for the game that was about to commence in a matter of minutes. Harry can feel the team's energy, and how excited they were for this match to finally take place. So once Liam starts their chant, Harry feels all of the teams energy raging all in that one little cirlce.

"What type of day is it?" Harry yells over the buzzers and the now full crowd. Liam being the main captain traditionally should be the one doing it, but Harry has the deeper voice so it works.

"Great day to be alive!" The team yells back.

"How do you feel?"

"Fired up!"

"How do you feel?" Liam adds in along with Harry this time.

"Fired up!"

"How do you feel?"

"Fired up!!"

"Breakdown ready!" Niall's Irish accent weaves through Liam's and Harry's making a perfect blind.

"Set!" The team yells back. Getting even more hyped and hyped as the chant comes to the end.

"Ready?" Harry yells solo this time.

"Set!

"Ready?"

"Set!!!"

"Ready ready ready?!" Liam and Harry yelled together again.

"Set set set!!" The team yelled out as the stomped their feet and huddled closer in the circle.

"Set set set!" Harry, Liam, and Niall yells out loud as their chant ends.

The team ended the chant with clapping together three loud times, before they ran to their positions on the field iwth the same energy as last year.

Harry always knew a game was going well when the sweat droplets on his skin began to run down his face and limbs and splash onto the grass of the field. And the scoreboard didn't lie. The other team couldn't get a shot in. Liam was one of the best goalies in state. Every goal the other team attempted to get was rather stopped by their defence or by Liam. It was currently 8-0 and Harry was sure they would win.

But then the unthinkable happens. The ball comes straight to Harry unexpectedly. The curly haired lad puts his hands up as his first defence, then that light feeling took over again. Soon the ball was zipping by him and into the direction of the oposing teams goal. Niall gives one kick and the ball goes flying in as the winning point. From the force of the wind, Harry was knocked to the ground. He looks at his cheering teammates and feels like he's cheated...like he's done something wrong.

"C'mon Harry we just won!" Niall says as he runs to his best friend and tackles the lad back into the ground. "I'm winning, and I don't intend on losing again!" Niall sings quoting that one Santana song.

Harry sighs and pushes the lad off of him, and fakes a smile that looks real because of his dimples. Soon the whole team was jumping around them and surrounding Harry and Niall, while doing their chant again. Harry turns his head, and he noticed something for the first time. A guy in the front row was watching him with a confused and awe struck expression. He held a sketchbook in hand, and Harry felt like making a run for it again.

"Party tonight at my house!" One of the teammates yelled, which earned a roar of cheers and 'yes's across their side of the field.

Harry looks away from the guy and then fixes his eyes to go back to Liam and Niall who were reenacting the final play. He can't help but to smile a little at that, cause his friends are truly dorks.
