"We have to tell Georgiana.""We can't!"
Mal and Evie met Jay and Carlos under the bleachers before the Tourney game was set to begin. To distract her, Mal sent Georgie to wait in the very long concession stand line for popcorn and some drinks.
"It was one thing when we were lying about Neville, but not now! Now Ben thinks he's in love with Georgie," Carlos said, nervously glancing at the line where Georgie was standing.
"She cannot find out. Especially now," Mal hissed. "Think about it! If she finds out that Ben is under a spell, she'll either tell him or try and break it. Once Ben isn't under the spell, he'll tell Neville and it'll all be over. Not only will we not have the wand, but they'll ship us all back to the Isle. That means Georgie has to go back to living with Gaston. We made a huge mistake, but there's nothing we can do to fix it right now."
Jay sighed and placed a hand on Carlos' shoulder. "She's right. Georgie would rather face being back in a house with her father than knowingly take away Ben's free will."
"Well, I don't see what's so bad about it," Evie said, reapplying some lipstick. "She obviously has a crush on him, and now she'll get to have a first boyfriend."
Mal have her a skeptical look. "Even I know a relationship built on a love potion is doomed to fail, E."
"Maybe not," she said, shrugging. "But with her having feelings for him already, she probably won't complain now that he's basically obsessed with her."
"Guys," Carlos said weakly. "She's gonna be crushed if she finds out the truth."
Mal bit her lip, beginning to feel bad. "Look, we all know that nothing could happen between them once we set our parents free. Let's just let her enjoy this, okay?"
The four silently nodded before going their separate ways — the boys to the field and the girls to the stands. Georgie was just making her way back with a large bucket of popcorn and three sodas in a drink tray. She had a content smile on her face that none of her friends wanted to see disappear.
As the game went by, the opposing team got a small lead over Auradon. Evie, Mal, and Georgie would cheer for Ben and Neville, but the coach had yet to put in Jay and Carlos.
"I guess it makes sense," Georgie said, frowning. "They're not winning and he wouldn't want to put in the two rookies while trying to catch up. But they were both really excited about playing, especially Jay."
"There's still time. He might put them in," Evie said, shrugging before finishing her soda.
"Doubt it," Mal muttered before reaching for some popcorn. "Woah, George, you put way too much salt on this stuff."
"Well, you can wait in line next time and fix it how you like it," Georgie said, leaning back on the bleachers. "Hey, why does Neville keep looking over here every time they have a time out?"
