Audrey hated Georgiana. Maybe it was because Georgie stole her boyfriend or simply because she was the daughter of a villain, but the princess had never felt so much disdain for anyone before — not even Mal. She couldn't stand how everyone at Auradon Prep seemed to be wrapped around her finger. Georgie was always running around and complimenting people and offering to help whenever she could. Audrey couldn't stand how she was now the star of the track team, and the way that Ben would smile when Georgie walked in the room made Audrey want to throw up.Audrey would do just about anything to tear Georgie down from the throne all those at their school had put her and the other villain kids on. So, when she caught the object of her rage wandering the halls after curfew, she followed.
She removed her heels and quietly followed Georgie, not wanting to be heard. Audrey was hoping to catch her doing something evil so that she could prove she wasn't as innocent as everyone thought. Breaking curfew alone wasn't a bad enough action — Audrey and just about every student at Auradon had done as much. Georgie had to be caught doing something bad, hopefully, bad enough to be sent back to the Isle of the Lost. If so, all of Audrey's problems would disappear along with Georgie.
However, Audrey's hope that Georgie would be doing something nefarious vanished when they ended up at the library. Audrey couldn't help but roll her eyes. What kind of loser snuck out just so she could read? She was about to give up and return to her room, but then Georgie spoke.
"Hey, Ben," she greeted, smiling softly at him. "Sorry, I'm a few minutes late. Evie and I were asking Mal all about her date with Neville."
"Did she have fun?" he asked.
Audrey peered through the bookshelves, trying to get a good look at Ben. Sneaking out to meet the future king of Auradon was certainly more scandalous. She decided to wait until they were in a more compromising position before going and getting Fairy Godmother.
"I mean, she didn't want to admit it, but she loved it. And she really likes Neville, I think. She said he brought her to the lake where you took me."
Ben cleared his throat while spreading a blanket on the ground for them to sit on. "Uh, yeah. I suggested he take her to the Enchanted Lake. You had said you'd never seen somewhere so beautiful while living on the Isle, so I thought she'd like it too."
Georgie smiled from how thoughtful he was. "Well, she did. Although you could've told Neville she couldn't swim either. Sounds like he pulled the exact same stunt you did. Even brought her one of those wishing rocks too."
She was too busy looking through a pile of books to notice the relieved look on Ben's face when she mentioned that Neville had gone swimming in the lake.
"Guess it slipped my mind," he said, shrugging. "So, I was thinking that tonight, we could try a book with one of your friends' parents in it. Take your pick — Aladdin, Snow White, 101 Dalmaitons, or Sleeping Beauty."
