As soon as I start to catch my breath, I comprehend I have absolutely no idea where I am, and I should walk towards my house as soon as possible. I go to Google Maps and plug in my address. I'm surprised to see I'm only a ten minute walk away considering the disparity of wealth between our houses.

I start to jog towards my house when I notice a series of text messages from my phone. I haven't looked at my phone is a couple of hours, so it wouldn't be unusual for someone to text me. I look at my phone, and I see twenty new text messages.

Myla: Hey I'm Here

Myla; just sitting in the car lmk if xc practice ran late

Myla: Ummmm where are you, I've been sitting here for 15 minutes

Myla: OK where the FUCK are you

Myla: Literally have been sitting here for thirty minutes this is Ridiculous Ryan, get here NOW

Myla: you know what if mom gets pissed at me for leaving you here I don't care

Myla: I LITERALLY WAITED AN HOUR FOR YOU, give me some common decency

Myla: I'm leaving, get your own fucking car ride home

Oh shit. I totally forgot to tell Myla I tutor Cody today... ughhh I guess I'm going to have to deal with Myla being passive aggressive for the rest of the day, scratch that, more like the rest of the week. I don't even bother to text Myla back because at least on this walk I'll have a few more moments of a drama free home life.

On the walk home, I think about Cody, about how much I liked the kiss even though it might not have been real. I mean is it really so bad if Cody likes me just because I gave him a potion? ... Okay, it might be. But, he's acting like a better human being to society so that has to count for something. I touch my lips, just a couple of minutes ago Cody's lips were right on them. I don't want to let go, not of this feeling, not yet at least.

I see the red front door that leads to the entryway of my home. Eventually, my legs carry themselves right before the door. I feel my heart racing, and I take a deep breath before I enter the land of Myla.

Not even three seconds after I open the door I hear Myla scream,

"YOU BITCH! I literally waited for an hour for you! You don't even have the decency to text me! And to think I was going to be nice to you!"

"Would you just chill?" I say while immediately raising my voice to make hers. "I'm sorry okay! I forgot!"

"YOU FORGOT! How could you forget, when I literally pick you up from school every day? Do you know I could be at Jack's house right now?"

"Yeah and riding your way to pleasure town like the slut you are?"

Myla stares at me hard. I wish I could grab the words back as soon as I said them, but there are no do-overs when you speak, this wasn't a nintendo game. A pregnant pause is reached between the two of us. She huffs and a redness immediately reaches her cheeks,

"Look, you know it's just plain bitchy to slutshame someone," Myla says in a softer voice.

Myla takes that moment to turn away and walk upstairs into her room. She doesn't slam the door in typical Myla fashion, and then the house is quiet like never before.

At first, I allow myself to curl my hands into fists. How dare she? Isn't it stupid that she literally goes to her boyfriend's house everyday. I cover her for her all the time, like that's stupid. She should be grateful.
