Star tear disease.
When the person cried starry tears. Similar to hanahaki disease, the person will get the disease if they are a subject of one-sided love. If the other person doesn't love them back, then they will continue to cry these tears until they go blind because of the blindingly beautiful glow of the stars. It wasn't exactly common, but it wasn't rare either. You could also hear a small tinkle sound when you cry the stars.
(Y/N) was an average girl, until she caught feelings for ___. (Y/N) really loved them, but as you can tell, they didn't like her back. They left (Y/N) crying the beautiful stars. It was already getting harder to see. She went to her dorm, stumbling multiple times on the way. She stayed in there for a few hours, until she was completely blind. She just accepted this, and just sat, thinking. She stayed there until there was a knock on her dorm. "Hey, (Y/N)? It's me, can I come in?" It was her best friend, Komaru Naegi! "Yeah, it's open..." (Y/N) called back.
The girl walked in, and (Y/N) tried to greet her the best she could as she was blind. "Y-You're blind? How co- oh." Komaru suddenly realised. Soon enough, Komaru was crying too, but not regularly. (Y/N) know the sound anywhere. The tinkle sound she was all too familiar with. "Ko... you have them too?" (Y/N) asked lightly. "H-huh? No! I don't, I'm ok!" She lies through her teeth. "...Don't lie to me. I know that sound anywhere." (Y/N) stated. Komaru sighed, and said "Fine, it's true... I have them too. I'm not completely blind yet, but I will be soon if it keeps up." (Y/N) stayed silent, and gave Komaru a hug. They stayed like that for a while.
After a bit, (Y/N) asked "Who is it?" Komaru was confused, until she remembered. "Oh... heh, I can't tell you, sorry.." "How come?" "...Because I know they don't like me back.." she sighed again. "Well, you shouldn't be so sure about that! Tell me who it is, Ko!" (Y/N) urged Komaru. "I really shouldn't.." "Come on! I won't tell anyone!" "(Y/N), no!" "Come on, pleaseee?" "...Fine. It's.. It's you, ok?!" Komaru shouted out. "It me..?" (Y/N) was shocked. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't ask for this to happen... you're just really nice and pretty and just...I'll go now." Komaru quickly tried to take her leave, but (Y/N) stopped her. "Komaru... I can see again! It was you all along!" (Y/N) laughed, and hugged Komaru. She was shocked, to say the least. When Ko also realised they no longer had the star tear disease, she also hugged (Y/N), crying happily together.
