With the kitchen cleaned until everything was sparkling, (y/n) thoroughly washed his hands with the soap he had brought with him. Before cleaning the utensils and bowls, or anything else he was going to use. Then finally after 2 hours of careful cleaning and scrubbing, (y/n) finally began on baking his grandmother's recipe on white bread.

First, he proofed the yeast, which is always an important step before starting on anything else, preheated the oven, and then began to carefully measure out the ingredients. He doubted that there would be many people stepping inside the store, so he wasn't worried that his limited supplies wasn't enough. While he waited for his yeast to proof, he measured out the rest of his ingredients, preheating the new oven that Cepos had installed. [1]

Once he finished measuring the ingredients, the yeast had proofed, so it was time for him to mix it in with the wet ingredients and into the dry. Ideally (y/n) would've liked to use two different types of flour, normal white flour, and bread flour for the perfect texture. However, it wasn't in his budget to buy separate kinds of flour, plus buying bread flour seemed a little wasteful seeing as how white flour could be used in other kinds of cooking.

Although (y/n) did want to try making wholegrain bread as well, since wholegrain flour was safe for Eclair to consume. So he wanted to try seeing if he could make some homemade treats for him.

'Well it's a nice thought at least, but I don't know what Cepos has in mind. I don't have much money to hire another worker or buy supplies. Even if a customer came, will this be enough? Wouldn't it be too sketchy that there's only white bread being sold?' I asked myself, my head swirling with these thoughts while I stood in the kitchen staring at the dough. It was still sticky and needed to be kneaded, so it could develop the gluten and become stretchy and smooth.

But, I just couldn't go on with the next step. 'I'm sorry grandma, I can't do this. What was I even thinking? I guess Dad was right, I should've learned business or something, so I at least have money.'

"Hmm, a fine texture, you just need to knead it, and it should be delicious." Cepos said, interrupting my thoughts. Glancing towards the direction I heard his voice, I saw him leaning over my shoulder, the scent of fresh bread radiating off of him.

He  smiled at me, leaning back, he asked if I was alright. "U-uh, y-yeah... I-" I couldn't find it in me to say the words that I was fine.

"You know, a baker's emotions can be felt in the things they make, and it shows in their products. When you're unmotivated and sad, the bread is dense and is slightly tough to eat. When you're happy the bread is fluffy, chewy, and seems to melt in your mouth." He remarked, going over towards the sink to wash his hands. While my eyes followed him, my head was still cluttered with negative thoughts that I was stupid of ever thinking that I could open up a bakery with my small office paycheck.

"Hey-" he said, snapping his fingers in front of my face. "You're doing well, cast away those thoughts and look at me." He said in a stern tone. The thoughts that were clouding my mind, their unbearable sounds became quiet. Obediently staring up at him, into his golden eyes, he placed his hands on my shoulders.

"I've had many clients in the past, and I know what they all end up thinking one day or another."

"I don't deserve to be baker. Why did I think I could do it? I don't have blank, I can never become a baker at this rate."

"Well you what I said to all of them? What is something that for eons have brought humans happiness? What was something that kept them alive. What was something that all social classes could experience?" He asked me, I felt like glancing away, breaking eye contact from his stare that was a bit too intense.
