Your Pov

Upon gripping Cepos' hand, a golden circle appeared on our wrists, it stung a bit, feeling like prickling needles on my skin. But I couldn't let go, because Cepos was holding on to it. So having to endure the pain until my hand felt numb-was only then, did the golden circle disappeared.

"Good, now that contract is sealed permanently... Mind if I borrow this wall?" he asked after he loosened his grip. He gestured towards the wall in the kitchen, since it was sort of out of the way, but also was where the fridge was.

"W-wait, hold on, c-contract?" I stammered, which he turned, tilting his head to the side.

"Oh, well it's nothing too serious, it just allows me to stay in this world without being forced back into mine... And transfers a little bit of my power, to aid in you learning things a lot quicker compared to the average human. Now, about the wall..." He said, gesturing to it.

"O-okay... um, what are you going to do? P-please don't destroy it, I don't have money to repair it." I said.

"No, no, I'm not going to destroy it. I just need a flat, preferably, large, blank surface to cast magic onto. I do need a place to sleep, and I won't be the only helper to appear. So having a small, alternate space for beings like myself, out of the way, would be the most suitable in your position. As your apartment is clearly not meant for more than one person." Cepos explained.

"What do you mean by more helpers?" I inquired.

"Well, are you planning on only selling bread in your bakery? I mean you could, I wouldn't mind being the only one available to help you. Although I do know that humans like variety and with variety, you need more help." Cepos stated, smiling at me. I allowed him to do whatever, magic-portal-room thingy he needed to do, as long as it didn't cost me anything.

"But wait, you referred to me as a 'human', are you something different?" I asked.

"I suppose so, I believe the term is spirit or fae? But it's nothing too extraordinary about us, as we basically have the same bodily functions as humans, and the only difference is that we age extremely slow. But that's beside the point." He said, waving the subject away. After placing his hand on the wall, the outline of a golden door was etched into the walls, showing a similar color the magic circles that appeared on our hands, moments prior-when we had made the contract.

Wasn't there something about not making contracts with spirits or fae? Oh god, what have I've gotten myself into?

Cepos' pov

Creating an alternate space was easy enough, glancing back at (y/n), though, he seemed concerned over something. Normally when humans saw magic, they would be surprised, but (y/n) got over that fact a bit too quickly. Or perhaps humans have changed since I've last been here.

"Is something wrong?" I asked, glancing back at the door to check if it was stabilized. The door was made out of pure gold, with details of lotuses carved into it, it was rather beautiful to see. Although did stand out compared to the rest of the apartment. To also save space, in this tiny apartment, the door opened inwards. Although, this is probably my first time having a human living in such a small space, although then again, it is interesting.

"Ah... you're not going to back out of the deal or something, right?" he asked, ignoring the golden door behind me.

"No. Why would I?" I asked him since it seemed to be bothering him.

"I just remembered something about, not making contracts with the fae, because they're extremely good at finding loopholes or breaking contracts." He said. Ah, so that's what's been bothering him.

"Eh, I mean it is true for the most part, I guess? Although I normally use it when I find a heavy distaste for a human who summoned me and luckily for you, you're one I find rather peculiar and honestly someone I will be hoping to work with. I've worked with a few... clients, and many of them weren't the best. So, I found loopholes and left those contracts, and made it so that they could never contract any other helper again." I smiled, which made (y/n) even more nervous, oops.

"A-ah, anyways... wow, you made a golden door... oh god, wait, normal humans, will just see a blank wall, correct?" he asked, raising an eyebrow I smiled.

"That is correct, I'm surprised you came to that conclusion," I said.

"Well, I was sort of hoping that would be the case, because I'm not really supposed to make any makeovers to my apartment without my landlord's permission. Plus, it would be extremely weird if I had a random golden door installed somewhere, leading into another unit." He said. His reasoning made sense, but it did surprise me that he came to that conclusion rather quickly.

"Understandable, regulations are there for a reason. In any case, you're able to access and see this door because of our contract, but I don't recommend going in there just yet. I need to set somethings up, but the purpose of this room is also to provide you space to practice and build up your skillset, without having to worry about ingredients or lack of space." I explained. He nodded, smiling at the arrangement before trying to stifle a yawn.

"Sorry, it's late, um, maybe tell me more tomorrow?" He asked. Chuckling I nodded, opening the golden door, I stepped inside to the alternate space, shutting the door behind me. What an interesting human indeed.
