Chapter 14: The "Long" Way Home

The eight of us looked and saw who was at the door. "Lord Diavolo!" I said.

"My Lord...!" Said Lucifer, "How did you find us?"

"I saw a large cloud of black smoke in the sky and I came to the source. And just by the spell put on the fire, I knew Satan was the one who lit the fire!" Explained Lord Diavolo.

"A fire?" Asked Lucifer.

"Satan lit a fire in the garden to see if Lord Diavolo would find us!" I said.

"A fire in the garden?" Asked Lucifer, "Is it still burning?"

"There's a spell on it so it wouldn't spread." I added.

"So you all destroyed someone else's property so Lord Diavolo could find us?" Asked Lucifer angrily.

"But the vampires hurt Mc!" Said Asmo.

"But that is no excuse to destroy a garden!" Exclaimed Lucifer.

"Vampires? What all happened?" Asked Diavolo.

"My Lord," said Lucifer, "after we got separated, we came to this mansion for help, but it turned out that there were six vampires living here, and when we least expected it, they drank Mc's blood, and chaos ensued."

"Oh my," said Diavolo, "You all sure had a wild ride!"

Is Diavolo getting a kick out of this? Whatever, what matters is that he found us. Barbatos was also with Diavolo. "So what do we do now?" Asked Mammon, "This retreat was obviously a bust!"

Diavolo looked at me and said, "What do you think Mc?"

"I actually wanna go back to the Devildom!" I said.

"I agree!" Said Levi.

"Yeah, it's too ugly around here!" Said Asmo.

"I'm hungry." Said Beel.

I looked and saw the vampire bros still unconscious. "What should we do with them?" I asked.

"Just leave them." Said Lucifer, "They've caused too much trouble."

We went to the door, but I felt something grab my ankle! I looked down and saw that it was Ayato grabbing my ankle! "Hey, get your hands of my human!" Yelled Mammon.

But then, Ayato bit into my ankle! Wincing in pain, I fell to the ground. I looked up and it looked like Lucifer was about to get mad again. "You worthless-!"

"Hold on a moment Lucifer," said Diavolo cutting Lucifer off, "I'll take care of this."

Next thing I knew it, Diavolo was in his demon form! "Unhand them, vampire!" Ordered Diavolo.

It now looked like some of the vampire bros were regaining consciousness! But from the state they're in, it looked like the effects of demon blood must have worn off on them. Ayato, making an attempt to stand up said, "You think we'll let them go that easily?"

"Ayato," I said, "This is the Prince of the Devildom you're talking to! You might not want to-!"

"Shut up human!" Shouted Ayato.

In that moment, the house started to shake like an earthquake. "I said unhand the human!" Ordered Diavolo, "Or would you like your home to crumble to the ground?"

The rumbling got louder and stronger, causing Ayato to let go of me. Taking the opportunity, I ran back to the demon bros. The ceiling started cracking and pieces of it crashed to the ground. "You may want to close your eyes Mc!" Said Lucifer.

I did as told, and a strange aura filled the room. "What's happening?!" Yelled Ayato.

I then heard the sound of bodies collapsing. The shaking stopped, and the strange aura was gone. "You can look now." Said Lucifer.

The vampire bros were on the ground unconscious once again. "Diavolo put a sleeping spell on the vampires so if we're going to escape, it must be now." Said Lucifer.

"Wait, what about our stuff?" Asked Mammon, "We can't leave it all behind!"

"They'll be knocked out for quite a bit, so hurry." Said Diavolo.

We all ran upstairs to our rooms and packed our stuff. However, since some of the ceiling broke, Mammon fell through the ceiling and back downstairs! Lucifer sighed at Mammon's constant stupidity. After we packed, we left immediately, but we saw the fire still blazing in the garden. "Satan," said Lucifer, "isn't there something you need to do here?"

Satan just sighed and put out the fire with a snap of his fingers. "It would have been better if it just spread to the mansion." Sighed Satan.

"I do not want us to be responsible for a burned down building." Said Lucifer.

"Well then," said Diavolo, "If you all just follow me."

We followed him into the woods where we got separated. We approached a tall tree and Diavolo said, "If you would, Barbatos."

"Yes my Lord." Said Barbatos.

A light consumed us all, and soon, our "getaway" to the human world came to a close.
