They all stood together in the living room, unsure what to say. After a few minutes lexa and Aiden stood up and walked together out of the living room, Towards lexas room.
"Lexa, you have to win." Aiden told his sister.
"Aiden, you can win too. Just fight, be a warrior. I know that you are a warrior, one of the best I know babie. You shouldn't give up." His sister anwsered him.
"Lexa come on be reasonable, I am the youngest of you all, you all have had so much more experience and training. And I am not a that good fighter lex. In the training everyone always beats me. I have no chance of to win this. I mean, you know Ontari she's smart, and she can fight. I won't be able to win from her. Luna, you know how strong she is. Her brother too, they can kill merciless. And there is you, you are the best of them all lex, not me, you have to win." Aiden said while tears where coming up in his eyes. "Please lexa, for me." He begged his sister.
"Babie, don't cry." Lexa said him, really hard trying to hide her own tears that where coming up.
"Please lexa.Win."
"I will try babie, I will try. But promise me, you will try too. You are a warrior Aiden, don't forget that."
Aiden nodded, tears streaming down his cheeks in silence, he loved his sister and he didn't want to let her die, he would do everything to let her become the next heda.
"I love you Aiden." Lexa said to him.
Aiden looked at his sister, shocked. Lexa hadn't said that to him, or to anyone since she had to kill people she loved. She always responded with the same thing when Aiden said he loved her, love is a weakness.
"I love you too lexa." Aiden responded his sister.
Then they heared it, the sound which always is played before a announcement, this time to tell that the heda died. Lexa gave aiden a kiss on his forehead.
"We should leave Aiden, it's time." She told him. Aiden nodded, and they walked together towards the square, where the news would be announced.
"Goodmorning, I want to thank you all for coming here." Flamekeeper Titus started to speak. He stood on the podium, and behind him the 5 natblida and the leaders of the 12 nations behind them. The crowd was filled by citizens of polis, and other grounders who decided to go to polis for the big news to get announced. "I do have really important news, Heda has found to be death in Hedas room this morning."
You could hear everyone in the crowd gasp, sheidheda was gone. Titus talked some more about the former heda, but lexa didn't really focus. She looked around in the crowd in front of the stage, looking if she saw people she knew. She saw Octavia with Lincoln and Bellamy, and she looked at Indra behind her. She made eye contact with Indra, and Indra nodded a little.
She new it already! Lexa thought.
She returned her attention back to titus who was still speaking.
"Now we have our ceremony to give the heda a farewell, and we will have a conclave to choose our new heda. The only thing about this conclave is that it will be a little more different than every other conclave we knew. Normally we would have tomorrow as an ceremony for the fallen heda, but now, since we have strong alliances with techkru, we want the next heda to be best informed about techkru as possible. So first, tomorrow, all of our natblida will leave for 1 week to an techkru family. They will live there for 1 week. To gain information and to gain respect for techkru. When the week is over, our natblidas will come back to polis together with one of the family members of the techkru family they stayed at. Then we will have the ceremony for the fallen heda, and ofcours our original conclave. The techkru people will watch with us all, and if their natblida loses, they will go home afterwards. And if their natblida will be praised as the next heda, will the techkru Person stay for the rest of the week with the heda." Titus spoke.
Lexa has to think again about what was being said. She had to go to an techkru family first?! Really! Well okay let's face that, she thought.
Titus thanked the people who came to the meeting, and left the stage. The clan leaders and natblida left the stage too. Lexa got towards Indra who was talking with Titus.
"Hello lexa, how are you?" Indra asked her. Lexa knew Indra for her whole life and she could see that this was a test, too see if lexa was able to keep te secret. But lexa has been practicing her poker-face since she was just a little girl, so she could hide the secret.
"I don't know Indra, I mean the heda just died. And well I just heared that I have to go to an techkru family tomorrow, I am kind of shocked I think. How are you indra?" Lexa anwsered her mentor.
"I feel like I have a lot of work to do to ge you ready for tomorrow, lexa. So let's go to your camber, there we will also hear where you are going too." The only people who where allowed into the natblida tower, other than natblidsa themself, where the flame keeper, and their mentors when the flame keeper allowed them too.
"Okay, lets go." Lexa anwsered and the girls walked away.
