Barb interlocked fingers with Poppy that made her heart flutter, she led her down a rocky path surrounded my lava and fire. Poppy felt safe beside Barb, she was so brave and controlling. "Alright we're here!" Barb said. Poppy stared into the lava, "WOW.. Lava, cool," she forced a smile

"Not that, dummy!" Within a few seconds, Barb had pulled out a cannon and Launched a bomb in the air, she pressed some sort of button that set it off. It was amazing. It was like a huge firework but red and fiery. Just like Barb, Poppy thought.

She averted her eyes to Barb, who looked chaotic when she smiled widely. It was beautiful. The way she looked at the explosions when they set off. The way she laughed when she was satisfied with the result. How her eyes shine and when her Mohawk moves with the wind. It was mesmerizing and amazing to witness.

"Quit staring, bro! You're gonna miss the best part!"

Poppy smiled softly and whispered, "You're amazing." Realizing what she had just said, she covered her mouth when Barb looked at her in amusement.

"Aww, that's so cute of you!" She teased as she stepped closer to her. "AAAHH- I SAID NOTHING!" Poppy shouted as she waved her waves frantically. "Do you think I'm handsome too?" She joked. Barb snickered when she saw Poppy turn red in embarrassment.

"What? Do you wanna kiss or something?" She joked again, making kissing faces and laughing afterwards.

"Aughhh, shut up already" Poppy let out a laugh when she saw barb making weird faces to annoy her.

They both laughed. Then there was a moment of silence. Barb sat down on the hard floor, looking at the sunset shine over the hot lava. "You're pretty cool to hang out with." Barb said. Poppy sat next to her, "You're pretty cool to hang with too,"

Poppy rested her head on her shoulder as Barb put her arm around her. "Wanna head back inside?" "Yeah.." Poppy muttered under her breath. They both had stood up and walked back to castle.

Within a few moments later they were back in Barbs lounge area, the whole gang was there, aka Barbs friends. "After you, m'lady" Barb joked as she opened the door for Poppy. "Why thank you." She giggled. "Hehe, alright gang you guys met poppy, she's pretty cool. You like rock too, huh?" Poppy nodded in excitement as she saw the trolls eyes look at her.

"Hey, babe."

That voice.

Poppy heard it before.

He glanced at the corner where a blue female troll was sitting. She knew it was meant for Barb when she saw her walk toward her. "Welcome back." Carol said bluntly as she kissed Barbs cheek. Poppy looked at them in disbelief.

"Hey, Carol," Barb smiled and she kissed her on the lips. "Oh! Pinkie this is my girlfriend, Carol! Pretty cool ain't it,"

Poppy stared in shock, still trying to process what had happen, "y-yeah.. cool,"

Barb wrapped her arm around Carol and grinned, "Wanna stay for a bit?"

Poppy hesitated. Should she stay and watch the love of her life love somebody else.. Or should she go cry about it at home with branch?

As Poppy thought about her choices she looked deeply into Barb's eyes with no expression. "I'm.. I'm gonna head back, branch is probably worried sick because it's so late! He doesn't like that I'm away half the time," Poppy ended with a nervous chuckle. Barb frowned a bit and furrowed her brows. Branch this, Branch that, why did everything have to be about him? "Pfft yeah, not like I care or anything just head back safe, Poppy," Barb said she she put her arm around her. "Stay cool, man."

The pink troll headed back, she didn't want to be around anyone right now. For the first time she felt depressed and.. Alone even. She never had a chance with Barb. She learned back then that things don't always go her way, but this time she had her expectations too high. She was unable to admit that Barb didn't love her but just thought of her as a friend. Once she entered her kingdom it was already dark. She sat down, next to a small river, glancing now and then at the bright stars.

Tears were forming in her eyes the more she thought about it. She was so heartbroken she felt like she couldn't breathe. She let herself fall to the ground and her eyes were fixated on the flowing grass.

She began to sob and let her emotions out once she couldn't handle what she had discovered anymore. She breathed heavily and pulled herself up to her feet. That's right. She had to get over her. She had to move on despite the fact that it'll be the most difficult thing to do.
