Chapter 24: First Date?

"Ehh??" I looked at Satori with a face of confusion. It was currently lunchtime on a Friday. We sat in the cafeteria along with the rest of the volleyball team. "Oi don't act so surprised, we're dating!" I take a bite out of my sandwich as I continue to look at him suspiciously. "Well, yeah.. but I thought that we've been going on dates this entire time?" Satori just dramatically crosses his arms and turns away. "I guess this isn't important to you." I roll my eyes playfully. "It is, just explain it to me."

Satori turns back towards me hesitantly before playing with his food. "The so called dates that we've had are always the same thing. We go to each other's houses, put on a movie, and make out! Now trust me, I love making out with you, it's my favorite pass time! But I want to take you out on a proper date that you deserve!"

I hold in a laugh and gush over Satori, leaning in and pinching his cheeks annoyingly. "Aw~ my boyfriend's the cutest!" Satori glares at me and tries to pull my hands off. "Stop that! I'm a scary monster! They call me the Guess Monster you know!" I ignore him and wrap my arms around his neck, smothering his face with kisses. "So cute!" I hear Satori angrily mumble as he takes an aggressive bite out of his lunch.

It was now Saturday and I was currently waiting on the couch for Satori to pick me up. He refused to tell me where we were going to make it a "romantic surprise," but still told me how to dress. "Nicely," he said. So there I was, in a cutely patterned short sleeved mini dress, waiting for my obnoxiously tall boyfriend. Soon enough, the doorbell rang followed by some knocks.

I immediately got up and sped towards the door. "On my way!" I quickly slipped on my white sneakers while unlocking the door. I opened the door and was greeted with a smug faced redhead. Satori mockingly bowed down and held out a hand, "M'Lady." I snickered and took his hand. I start to open my mouth but Satori quickly continued. "You look rather ravishing today. Are you happy that your prince has finally arrived?" I teasingly hit his arm with my free hand as I was brought into a tight embrace.

As we separated, I tilted my head up. "So where we headed?" Satori smirks and taps my nose. "You'll see~."

I blinked at the setting I was greeted with. An open field filled with a variety of flowers, and right in the center was a picnic basket. Under said basket was a red and white checkered blanket.

A smile quickly grew on my face as I turned towards the person responsible for this. Satori was looking away with a flustered look. I snickered and pulled him towards the blanket.

As we settled down, I gave Satori a smirk. "You big ol' sap.." Satori became incredibly flushed. "Hey! This wasn't entirely me, Semi-Semi helped out!" I shook my head and redirected my attention towards the basket. "Let's see what's inside shall we?"

Although we bantered for a bit, the date was overall silent. It was never awkward, maybe a bit tense but it's never awkward with Satori around.

Satori cleared his throat. "So.. your brother is going up against Aoba Johsai again soon right?"

I nodded slowly. "Yeah.. he'll be going up against our senior from junior high and the majority of our past classmates for the second time."

"Right. Their first match was pretty close right?"

I hummed in acknowledgment. There was a small pause before I spoke again. "I believe in him though. He's become less selfish which is pretty good. He's got friends to depend on now. The first time their teams went head to head it really affected him.. but after going to that training camp he's seemed different."

Satori nods knowingly before a smirk settled on his face. "Who knows. If he does end up winning, then we'd be going head to head, right? I hope you know I won't be going easy on him just because he's your brother." I mirrored his smirk. "If you did, I would've broken up with you."

Satori eyes widened. "WHAT?? YOU'RE TOO CRUEL SOMETIMES N/N!" I stuck my tongue out at him before returning my gaze to the field in front of us.

A little sibling rivalry never hurt anybody.

hey guys! moe here. that's right, from now on please refer to me as moe! adding honorifics to the end of my nickname while not being japanese was pretty ignorant of me so i'm very sorry about that. no one's said anything, but seeing my past selves' mistakes made me very upset so i will be trying to fix all of that stuff. sorry that this update was semi-late? i was aiming for before the 20th but life is very hard to predict.. as for my posting schedule, i want to aim for twice a month starting in july! as always, thank you guys so much for the endless support. it always warms my heart to see so many people bonding and becoming friends in my comment sections. knowing that i was able to create a community where people are comfortable to just chat over a similar internet is very satisfying. sorry that this chapter was sort of filler but it's the start to a new arc/era! karasuno v.s. shiratorizawa soon perhaps? we'll see! anyways, see you lot soon! i'm so glad to be back (: moe out!
