Ahh, the market, one of Dongju's favorite places ever to be. It was a place of communication, exchange, and even more possible affairs to where he can easily snag what he needed.
It's how all of the Gypsies in his old pack received what all they have, they simple stole fruits and vegetables and meats right from underneath vender's noses and no one had been caught. He himself had taken his fair share of fruits and foods for the pack when he was still with them, as well as now for himself.
Being on his own, he was more at risk of being caught. He didn't have the help of another fellow Gypsy distracting the vendor with flirty comments or even touches. He relied all on himself now, he had no one to help him.
How he managed to survive this far surprised him, he never visited the same market more than once, he always struck different pack markets since it was less of a chance of him getting caught.
Or from someone recognizing him from the past.
However, today he had no choice but to visit an old market that had everything he could think of. Meats, pelts, shoes, clothes, bags, fruits, vegetables, even small pieces of furniture and toys for families. But it's been almost four year since he had last set foot into this market. Surely, if someone were to recognize him they wouldn't immediately.
He easily snuck into the market from a side entrance, snatching a bag from the stand next to him and walked away quickly but not so suspiciously. Luckily for him, today seemed to be a busy day at the market and everyone easily crowded each stand. He hit the market right on time, and started snatching things off of shelves left and right.
Feeling a little more confident, he started snatching up more items off of shelves. What started from one tomato at a vegetable stand turned into three tomatoes, a cucumber, a zucchini, and a few potatoes. He smirks, everyone crowded the vendor to trade things with him, so he slipped right out of the crowd to move to the next crowded stand.
Which happened to be the fruits.
With a sly smile, he slips into the crowd hollering for the vendor items for trade and began plucking different fruits off of the shelves. Two mangos, three bananas, an apple, and he even managed to snag a bowl of different mixed berries. His leather bag started getting slightly heavy so as he crawled out of the crowd at the fruit stand with a successful chuckle escaping his lips, he takes out the apple he had his eye on from the very beginning and wipes it clean on his shirt.
His mouth watered, imagining the taste of the apple's juices that he had been depraved of for so long after the pack left him. But before he could sink his teeth into the voluptuous red skin of the fruit, a hand grabs his wrist tightly and jerks it away from his face, "Hey you! I saw you taking that apple off the shelf!"
"I don't have any recollection of what you're talking about sir," Dongju pouts innocently, panicking slightly but remembering what he had been told to do if he ever got caught.
Offer yourself.
"Bullshit! I seen you sneak in and out of that stand," he snatched Dongju's bag off of his shoulder and the Beta gasps.
"Hey!" Dongju reaches for his bag, but the older Alpha male snarls in his ear and makes the Beta submit.
"I bet you stole everything in this little bag of yours didn't you?" He growls, peeking inside to see Dongju's hoard of goodies. The older man whistles, "Wow, you must have sticky fingers boy," he jerks Dongju towards him, "You're coming with me, we're going to speak to the guards personally. Do you know what we do to thieves around here? We cut their hands off for taking without paying!"
"Please sir," Dongju bats his eyes, a seductive look takes over his face as he curves his body against the Alpha, "Maybe we can..." his finger traces the lips of the Alpha and smirks, "Work something out?"
