The aftermath of the fight was awkward and silent. After Seoho's departure and Keonhee's, Leedo decided it was necessary for him to take Dongju back to their hut and make the Beta rest. He was still very weak himself, both needed to rest but his Beta was the one who was actually ill.
As soon as Leedo shuts the door to their hut, Dongju breaks away from him and walks over to the pile of furs where they slept together. He removes a large fur blanket and walks over to the opposite side of the hut. Once he was as far away from Leedo as possible, he places the fur down and curls up on it, his back facing Leedo.
"Dongju-"
"Don't talk to me," the Beta snaps, "I don't even know who you are anymore."
"Look if this is about me renaming myself-"
"If you lied about your name then how can I know everything else you have told me ISN'T a lie!? I don't know if I can trust what you say anymore Lee- Geonhak!"
"I'm no longer Geonhak," Leedo growls warningly, "Geonhak was who I used to be and I failed that name. Leedo is who you know now and is completely different from Geonhak."
The beta snorts, rolling over to face him, "Different? How so? Because from what I can see you share the same face and body, the same brain and pair of lungs that help you breathe. And yet you have the audacity to tell me you're different."
"I am different!" Leedo growls again, advancing towards the Beta, "Geonhak was irresponsible and not careful. Although I have made many, many mistakes I plan to prove myself until the very last breath I take."
"Was it Geonhak or Leedo that claimed me?" Dongju snaps, sitting up straight, "Huh? Which one was it?"
Leedo didn't say anything back to the Beta, and Dongju snorts, "That's what I thought."
"What do I need to do to get you to trust me?" Leedo ran his hand through his hair frustratingly, "Seriously what do I need to do for you?"
"How about no longer lying!" Dongju shouts, standing abruptly, but as he stood he sways slightly and his eyes roll to the back of his head.
Leedo is quick to catch him, but he too is weak and both ended up on the floor. Leedo made sure to not drop Dongju as he held the Beta in his arms, panic settling into his body as the Beta's eyes flutter and roll around, "Hey, Dongju-" he lightly grips the Beta's chin and tries to get the Beta to look at him. Dongju's eyes were darting back and forth as if he were dizzy, the blonde swallows harshly, "I'm gonna puke," Leedo hurries and turns him on his side just as the Beta gags and throws up a little on the ground beneath them.
The alpha made a face, but concern quickly replaced it as he brushes back Dongju's blonde hair from his face with one hand and pats his back with the other. The Beta groans as he tilts his head forward, resting his forehead in Leedo's forearm, "Fuck that was gross."
"Yeah kind of," Leedo wrinkles his nose at the smell. But something else catches him off guard.
He takes a deeper breath; his eyes widen slightly as he tilts his head forward. Dongju's body went rigid as Leedo's nose brushes against his scent gland, sniffing and leaving small goosebumps in their wake as he breathes in the Beta's suddenly sweeter scent. Leedo's body too went stiff as he stopped sniffing, before he presses his nose further into Dongju's neck and takes another big whiff of the maple scent.
He didn't smell just like plain maple, his scent was sweeter and had a faint oak scent mixed with it.
Leedo lifts his head up quickly, "Fuck."
"What?" Dongju asks suddenly, the Beta's anxiety rose slightly and made the sweet scent of maple turn a little sour with distress.
"How long has it been since I've knotted you?" Leedo asks, swallowing the dry lump that grew in his throat.
