Woww I really haven't been updating like a thought I would, but here's chapter 4!

Emily pulled her sleek, black Ford Fusion into her designated parking spot and shifted it into park. She could feel a hint of soreness between her legs while her mind reeled from what she and Dereck had did at work today.

Nothing about what had happened was regular for her: the nervousness around her coworker, the pregnancy accusations, and certainly not the (unprofessional, yet eye rolling) sexing with Dereck Morgan. I need a drink, she thought.

Walking to the elevator in the parking garage that would take her to her floor, Emily was knee deep in her thoughts. She didn't know how she felt about Dereck or their relationship or anything anymore! When she first started with this unit he was her coworker - friendly but still professional, and always ready to listen to the new team member (her) when she had something to share.

Then, after only a few months, he became her friend - always sitting next to her on the jet or round table room, checking up on her after hard cases, and calling her his princess in their down time conversations.

His princess, she thought while stepping into the elevator and absently watching the doors close. Maybe that was the problem; she hated to think that she had gotten too comfortable being Dereck's friend, being anybody's friend, really.

As a foreign ambassador, her mother traveled a lot, and sadly dragged Emily with her everywhere she went. Emily learned young that everytime she let anyone get as close as her team was to her, she had to say goodbye to them in the end. She shook her head in confusion, not making any sense of what she was feeling. How did she go from analyzing her relationship with Morgan to the thought of leaving her team?

This isn't about my team or having to say goodbye to them, she thought. Emily liked her job and the family she found in it, and didn't plan on leaving them any time soon. This is about Dereck, her mind ran.

Her eyebrows furrowed even tighter with worry before she reached her final conclusion. We've gotten too close to each other, she thought. I've gotten too close to him. Emily worried her bottom lip while going over all of the things that brought her to that conclusion.

She'd gotten too comfortable with his smile, too comfortable with the worried look on his face anytime she'd been hurt in the field, with the 'princesses', the 'Emily's', the laughs, the hugs, the coffees in the morning, with him always being there for her when she needed him.

A small smile played on her lips while her brows still pulled together. He slowed her down, she thought. She didn't feel the need to be defensive around him, or protect herself from her own feelings. Emily could admit that was true, but the only problem was her not knowing if it was a good or a bad thing.

.... Flashback....

Gideon had been all for having agent Prentiss to be the one to infiltrate DeLaine's building first and Emily was in no hesitation to reactivate the skills she'd learned at the Russian Spy Academy to do so. At least not to prove herself, she thought.

Once she was in, she would take out DeLaine's base line of security alone and create an opening for the first SWAT team to come in. They were too heavily armed in the entrance for there to be a basic ambush, it would almost surely end in a shoot out that they weren't ready for. So Jason decided to put the skill he read on Emily's background check to the test.

Emily sat quietly on the floor in the back of the ARV with her legs crossed, in meditation. From Dereck Morgan's point of view, her slight frame was a dark, menacing shadow seated against the wall.
