Mark was guilty. When he saw Lucas open his eyes so wide he thought it would come out, he felt guilty. When Lucas begged him not to say that and asked if he meant it, He felt guilty. When Lucas cried so hard that day on the sofa, he felt guilty.
It was his fault.
He Insisted to break up. He insisted that she was the right person. He insisted that Lucas deserves her and not him.
It was all him.
He lied when he said he fell out of love and that this was a win-win situation. He lied when he said that he wouldn't miss him and that they could be friends. He lied when he said that breaking up would clear their heads.
He was guilty. So so guilty.
You did the right thing. You broke his heart before he could break yours. You're too weak to handle being broken up with Anyways
Maybe the little voice in his head was right. Maybe he should go through this pain for being so stubborn and sad.
Maybe he should just not think about it again.
