Chapter 8

"... Huuuu ?? You want to leave Re-Estize??"

"That's not definitive! I will come back say hello, and I'm not that far, I will stay in a little village named Carne!"

Gazef was very surprised by your sudden decision, you seemed to have found peace here, but if you wanted to leave that was your life after all.

But what surprised him the most was your choice of destination. Carne was the village saved by Ainz Ooal Gown, the coincidence was weird but he knew you certainly didn't choose it for this reason. (And he didn't even mention the name of this village when he spoke with you...)

"Well then, but be careful, this village is surrounded by forests full of monsters, at least ask for someone to accompany you."

You did a sulky face, your trip was  ready to start, it was simple to organize and you didn't need any protection against some basic monsters...

" You could ask to Unglaus, that would be a good idea, I think it would be nice for him to get out of the town for one day."

"You think he's gonna accept to do that? And you know I don't need protection."

He looked at you with a 'come on listen this time...' look and sighed.

You felt he would not let you go without him around, but you were not sure how to argue with him on that... Look... You couldn't say something like :
" No, he can't come, because, remember the overpowered demon from a week ago? Yeaaah the one who almost destroyed the town, well, he actually forced me to go there. And I don't want to have his death on my conscience just because the dude need a little day off. "

You sighed, seeing the big guy waiting for a response.

"Okay fine... But just for this time, I don't need a bodyguard everytime I have to go to the town!"

Your pissed tone make him smile, and he put one hand on your shoulder.

"I'm glad you finally accept! I truly hope you will find a place where you like to stay... It can seems strange, but I'm really proud to see you finally got used to leave here. You know why I said to Unglaus you were my sister?"

You nodded a "no".

"Because that's how I consider you."

He laughed at his own words while you stood, still quiet.

"I'm sorry if it sounded cheesy but that's really how I feel! I wanted you to know before your leaving!"

You genuinely smile, his words were so comforting, he had some skill to make you feel safe and confident. And you felt in your soul that these words were sincere ones.

" Don't count on me for calling you 'Big Bro'... But... Thank you Gazef, that mean a lot, it will be a pleasure to see you again soon!"

His usual bright smile crossed his face, as he waved you goodbye.

As you crossed the giants door of the city with your cart, you felt your heart thighen a little. But the words of Gazef gave you the strength to go ahead with a confident smile.
When Unglaus saw it, he could only think that you weren't the sister of Gazef for nothing.

At first you thought that asking for new informations about the vampire that Brain saw the other night would be a nice addition to your knowledge; But you stopped yourself, realizing that you could be spied on by a certain demon.

"So... You spoke about the rescue of a girl the other night! That's not a common mission, how do you put yourself in that situation?"

Brain looked at you surprised, he believed you were going to spoke about the destination or the weather... But a more interesting conversation was coming, and he was glad you actually listened to his story.

"Actually... I meet a man who is extremely strong, you can trust me, that's almost terrifying! Me and Climb were really glad to meet him, it has been a while since I fight seriously. The night when we planned to stopped the eight fingers he was there, and... "

Brain explained you the situation, you learned that Climb and him had a kind of relationship of trust with a man named 'Sebas'. This man was apparently really strong and beat by himself the association named the 'Six arms'. You actually heard of them before from Gazef.

That was the first time since you've been there that you heard of people that strong. Four persons who were capable to make the place you knew for years shiver like it was nothing. You had the feeling that it could definitely not be a coincidence.

Jaldabaoth, Momon, Sebas and that vampire were certainly related. But again for his own sake that was out of question to speak about that to Unglaus!
Not wanting him to spoke about the vampire, you decided to change the subject of the conversation.

"Tuare you said? That's a nice name! I hope these two can leave in peace now! But I wonder, what about you? Did you plan to join the royal guard like Gazef?"

"Actually, I don't want to... I'm not sure what's about to come up for me, but for now I enjoy staying with Stronoff and watch over Climb."

You smiled at each other, you were satisfied by his response.

"I'm glad Gazef have you, he always enjoyed company and I believe that you two actually have a good influence on each other, thanks."

"Don't forget he's actually my rival, I'm the one who have to defeat him!"

As saying his sentence, he laughed a little, you could see he had no bad intentions at all.

"Well then, I count on you to be the one who beat his ass and no one else!"

The two of you laugh as a village was now visible in the distance.

You were arrived to your new home.

End of chapter 8! I'm so happy to have a book where I can take the time to develop other relationships, I wanted a wholesome one with Gazef, and I'm pretty happy about how it turns out!
