Chapter 13: Boat Ride

Sonic and I strolled down the sidewalk to get to the event. I smile holding his hand as he held onto mine.

"I-I look so dumb!" he stuttered.

"Hopefully no one notices you then," I replied looking at him. "Besides, you look quite pretty,"

"Dfdsfhdjsfjdkf!"

"Maybe some guys will come and steal you," I joked laughing.

"Maybe some girls will try and seduce you!" he said.

"Well no matter what happens, let's make sure we're together in the end,"

I wrapped my arm around his waist and pulled him close. 

"I have to make sure to play the role right," I teased then placed my hand onto his butt as he jumped a bit.

"You seem to be having a bit too much fun doing this to me!" he growled. 

"Shhh, my beautiful Lavender," 

"Lavender!?"

We noticed there was quite a long line to get a boat. We heard some whispering going around and apparently they had a shortage of boats because some heroes needed to use them for a mission. Ugh, hero? Mission? The workers had to wait a bit longer for more boats to arrive from another place. For now, they could only have a certain amount of people be on a boat for a bit. I watched the workers light up some torches and place them around for lights. I heard some old men laughing loudly as they approached us. 

"Hey there pretty lady," they said. I almost broke character forgetting that I wasn't a lady anymore in my disguise unless they were smart enough to figure out. "Want to have some fun? We could have more fun without that weakling over there," I looked at Sonic and he had that childish smile. Oh boy, he had a new move that he wanted to show off. 

"Did you bring your weapons?" I whispered into his ear and he nodded. "I'll stay in line for us then,"

Sonic nodded and started walking towards them. He cleared his throat and tried his best to make a girly voice, he basically nailed it. He looked down at his feet and puffed his cheeks a bit.

"I-I've never had a-a lot of fun," Sonic said to them. They grinned looking at each other.

"Let's go into the woods over there," one of them said pointing to the location. Sonic nodded and started to walk as they looked back at me feeling cocky that they "stole" my "girlfriend". I sighed and covered my mouth with my sleeve laughing quietly. If only those idiots knew what they were going to get into. I felt someone bump into me.

"Ah, sorry," the person said. I looked back and my eye twitched a bit. It was Amai. Why!?!!?!?? I cleared my throat and lowered the tone.

"It's alright," I said quietly. Amai put on a mask to "disguise" himself from his fans, but it was still so noticeable with his clothes and hair. Either he still wanted attention or he really is just oblivious. He looked at me.

"What are these people waiting for?" he asked.

"Boats for the event of hosting boat rides," I answered.

"Ah, if only I could bring someone special,"

Agh, why is he still talking to me? Get away from me, you annoying pretty face.

"Special?" I asked trying to act normal. "the number one A-ranked hero has someone special?"

"Hmm? Yeah, I do. Although she doesn't seem interested in me no matter how hard I try,"

"Who is she?"

"She is someone who is pretty cold towards me, but that's something different compared to all the girls who would just throw themselves at me. I like this person, but she probably has her heart for someone else,"

"Then don't go and force her to like you,"

I rolled my eyes.

"But who wouldn't love someone like me?"

This annoying A-ranked hero really is getting into his own head. I shrugged and looked to see Sonic walking back to me. Sonic noticed Amai and walked in front of him. Sonic smiled and gave me a tight hug. He let go and watched the line moving quickly. 

"Ah, guess there are boats now," I said. I looked back to see Amai getting attacked by fangirls so I quickly ran into a boat with Sonic. We got in our boat and I started to row away from the land as quickly as I could. I looked at Sonic. "What did you do to them?"

"I killed them obviously," he answered. "They were luring me to...do things...How disgusting,"

I nodded.

"At least you didn't get yourself dirty," I said smiling and looking at him. He smiled and looked around our surroundings to see other couples smiling on their boats. The torches were everywhere and it made the dark look beautiful. The starry night sky just added to the loving moment. "So, you see anything you like?"

Sonic looked back at me and gave a small grin.

"Yeah, I'm looking right at them," he responded and leaned forward. as we kissed in the middle of the lake while everyone else was busy on their own boats.

"I love you," I said. 

"I love you even more," he said back to me as we enjoyed this moment.
