Chapter 8: Nightmare Confession

I opened my eyes and checked the time. 1:15 AM. It was around the middle of the night and I could hear some shuffling from the living room. Sonic would sleep on the couch instead of our other room. I got up and stretched to go see what was going on. I put on my slippers and opened my door walking out to go check on Sonic. I took a peek and noticed that he was trembling while hugging his knees tightly. 

"Sonic?" I said quietly. He threw his ninja swords at me, but I dodged it. "What's wrong?"

I walked over to see how scared his facial expression was. I sat next to him and took away his weapons setting it onto our coffee table. He flinched when I got near him. He quickly moved into my arms and hugged me tightly. He started quietly crying onto my shoulder.

"Are you going to betray me as well?" he whispered in my ear.

"Huh? What makes you say a thing like that?" I questioned. He squeezed me tighter.

"I just had a bad dream that you turned me into the authorities and I also got flashbacks of what had happened to me when I was a child,"

I slowly wrapped my arms around him and finally gave him a hug. 

"It was just a dream and what happened to you is in the past," I claimed. I looked back at him as he was looking down. "I've never seen such a...vulnerable side of you," I touched the sides of his face and wipes his tears away with my thumbs. I moved his hair back a bit to see his face. I shoved his face in my chest. "Tsk, it'll be alright stupid. You have me after all," I stroked his hair to calm him down a bit then gently smacked the back of his head. "Listen you annoying girly cocky ninja killing machine, you'll be safe with me. That's a promise, do you want to come into my room for tonight?"

I felt his head nod and I let go walking back to my room. I made him get in my bed and handed him a glass of water to cool down. He took a sip and I got in bed with him. He placed the cup down on my nightstand and started cuddling me.

"H-Hey! I never said we'd be cuddling!" I said. He clung onto me. "You're quite clingy," 

I cuddled him back. "Only because you're in a vulnerable state,"

He looked at me and smiled. 

"So...I want to tell you something," he says. I look at him.

"What is it?" I asked. He gulped.

"Umm, well, do you like anyone?" 

"As like...a crush?"

He nods.

"Has someone caught your eyes?" he asked.

"Well, there's someone that I've been debating about," 

"Who is it?"

"I...erm...You," I said. He looked stunned. 

"I wanted to tell you that I like you," he says. I looked down at myself then back up at me.

"Huh? Why? What's there to like?" 

"Umm, I'm not sure how to explain that. It's just that day when we went to the fair...and...the moments we've been spending together..."

"So why are you telling me this?"

"I want you to become mine," he stated. His face was covered with embarrassment and I moved my face closer to his. I laughed.

"Sure, I'll be yours," I answered. A nice smile formed across his face. I pulled the back of his head towards me as I kissed him. I closed my eyes.
