ALEX'S POV.
"Dude, I miss her. Don't you get it?" I walked into my room, took off my hoodie, and sat beside David. Yes, David! Actually, we've been friends since we were much younger, we attended the same secondary school back then in Nigeria.
"Well, what you did was way out of it though." He told me.
"Are you here to blame me again? When you know what the mother of your child and her brother made me do." I hissed and walked towards the kitchen, he followed me.
Rose and I graduated this year and ever since, she has been flourishing in riches, her company also got popular in architecture. I guess she got lucky and me? Well, I also have an engineering firm but it's not growing that really, at least not as Rose's.
"Alex, I know what they made you do but that doesn't justify your absence for months. After you graduated, you left her, for like how many months? Six months? Seven?" He said.
"How's Michelle?" I prevaricated.
Michelle is David's daughter and she's six-year-old. David had her at a very young age back then in Nigeria, Michelle's mother Martha, is the cause of this mess I'm in with Rose.
"She's fine, it's very funny how sweet and annoying she can be. Man, she makes me happy." He smiled.
"That's really cool, I would really love to have a child too but I want Rose to be the mother of my kids." I buried my face in my hands.
"I know how you feel." He uttered.
"We were like strangers when we met, she cried when her supposed boyfriend broke up with her. You should have seen her facial expressions. I feel like I'm losing her." I looked at David.
"It's okay, we'll get over this." He asserted.
"Yeah, hopefully." I managed to say.
"Let's eat at kelly's." He offered.
"Bills on you." I jokingly said.
David is still in school, he's presently studying medicine at New Bridge University. He works on the night shift, just to cater for his child. His parents were nice enough to help him pay half of his school fees every time, he'd then find the remaining or most times I'd help him.
I envy him a lot when his child calls him daddy, so sweet and impressive. I know it's weird for me to yearn for a child when I'm just twenty-three years old.
FLASHBACK.
Five years earlier."We're here Rose." I smiled at how excited she looked, I couldn't have left her back there in Nigeria, I'm happy I made this work.
"I'm in the United Kingdom." She screamed and got everyone's attention.
"Rose," I smiled
"I'm sorry, I'm just too happy." She told me.
"I'm happy you're happy." I grinned.
I spotted a man with our names on a wide card waiting patiently for us."NBU ambassador, my name is Jack..." He was about to complete his sentence when I cut him short.
"Terry, you're Jack Terry?" I completed his name for him.
"Yes please, follow me." He walked away from the crowd. He ushered us into a nice black car, the chauffeur glanced back to see if we're all in the car, Mr. Jack was at the front seat. I sharply checked the time on the car radio and it clearly shows 4:39 pm.
