ROSE'S POV.

"Dan! Dan!! Dan!!! Wait up." I ran after him. This guy must have jinxed me or something because it is a big deal for me, Rose Elliot to chase a guy who has absolutely nothing to offer me except love and that is priceless. Actually, I love Daniel, or do I? Yes, I do, I mean if I don't I wouldn't be here anyway. Dan is so cute, he's brown-skinned, he's tall and hot, he gives me so much joy, he makes me feel like a woman. My friends spite him for no reason, but I don't care because, no one rules my life, I am my boss and my boss is I.

"Daniel!" I yelled, he was ahead of me, he walked faster and I ran after him. I should be at work but I decided to be here, if this isn't love then what is it? I should be quick before cameras are everywhere, being a celebrity is a lot to handle. I can't even go to a normal restaurant.

"What do you want Rose?" He paused and looked back.

"I want us to talk please," I uttered looking miserable.

"Okay let's talk." He said sarcastically and emphasized the "talk" in his sentence. I walked up to him.

"Daniel, I'm so sorry. It's not what you think, Alex is a pest and he's just trying to sabotage our relationship." I explained.

"He likes you, Rose, he's your ex, right? And he still loves you. Did you see his car? His watch? Rose how on earth am I supposed to compete with all that. Yes, I love you and we had plans and all, but right now I'm nothing. I don't even have a job." He laughed.

"I'm sorry about all that Dan, but let's just forget all this and move on," I told him.

"You know, whenever I tell my friends or anyone that I'm in a relationship with Rose Elliot, you know what they do? They laugh! Rose, they laugh so hard that I'd even end up laughing at myself. Your friends? They don't even like me." He looked at me.

"But I like you, I'm not ashamed to show you off to my friends. You're good looking Dan, and my friends know that, you love me and they know that, you make me feel happy and they also know that. What else do I want? My friends have guys that are well to do like Alex but don't have what you have and that's a good heart. So please, Daniel let's forget all this." I told him.

"I want to give you more, I want to buy you gifts on your birthday, I can't even take you out on a proper date, Rose. If possibly we get married, do you get to bear my first name or I get to bear yours? You know, to gain fame and attention, so people would know that I got married to Rose Elliot? Excuse me, Rose." He smiled and left.

With his last words, I didn't bother saying a word to him or calling him back. He's right after all we don't look right. I've tried so hard to stabilize him or use my references to get him a cool and nice job but he wouldn't want to use me to get to the top just like he used in his words. Well, he just lost a gem. At least it'd look good in his history that he had once dated Rose Elliot.

FLASHBACK

"Baby girl, I don't bite." The girl whom I supposed is my roommate said to me.

"I'm a medical student and you are?" She uttered again.

"Architecture, I-I I'm here to study architecture." I stuttered.

"Wow, that's cool." She said.

"You're a medical student?". I asked to be sure.
