FLASHBACK
ALEX'S POV.
"Hey, dude! Are you up for tonight's party?" Josh my roommate asked me. He was ironing his shirt.
"I don't know yet, this is my first week in NBU and I still have better things to do than to waste my precious time, maybe after a month or two I'd be able to attend parties," I explained.
"I just asked you a yes or no question man, and you said all this. It's your life man, Do what you please. I just felt it'd be cool to introduce you to the rest of my friends at the party." He explained and headed towards to restroom.
Was I too harsh? A few of his friends gave me a warm welcome on my first day in NBU so, it's not really cool If I cut them off like that. I think I have to go with Josh.
"Errm, Josh?" I yelled so he could hear me from the restroom.
"What, this time man." He uttered.
"What time are you going to the party?" I asked.
"Eight.pm." He shouted.
"Till?" I inquired.
"Till dawn, around five am."
"Oh really, I'd Like to accompany you to the party," I said.
"Wow, cool man. I need to get you prepared, give you a nice cut. Who knows, you might be the man of the night and all girls would start lurking for you." He walked into the room and smirked.
"About girls, naaaaa. I have a girlfriend, we're not in a relationship yet though but we have plans." I smiled like an idiot. I knew the smile was like an idiot, I could feel it.
Josh laughed so hard and said. "Wait what? What are you saying man, it's quite obvious you two are confused. see, I need to see this girl you've been talking about for a while now...." He was cut short by my phone's ringtone.
"Talk of the devil," I exclaimed and smiled.
"Hmm." Josh smiled.
"Hey Rose, how are you?" I asked.
"I'm good just bored." She said.
"So what plans do you have for today, it's Friday night remember?" I said.
"Plans, you know we don't keep specific plans for Friday nights so what's with the question." She sounded confused.
"I just feel you should go out, you know, chill with your friends and all," I said, trying to indirectly tell her that I'm going for a party.
"I don't have friends except for Beatrice, and she might not be available. Why don't you come here and take me out, it's been a while you know, aside from the usual school cafeteria outings." She voiced.
"I'm so sorry, I don't think I'd be able to make it today. Be-cccause I want to read." I stammered, oh jeez! This is like the first time I'd be telling a lie to Rose.
"Oh okay, it's good to know that you spend your time wisely. I guess I should also do the same." She said. Josh was looking at me in such a way that was very unpleasing.
"Bye Rose, I'll call you soon," I said.
"You know I care about you right?" She asked and my conscience stabbed me.
"I-I-I know you do, I do too." I stuttered.
"Ok bye."
"Man! That was lit" He shouted.
