DAVID'S POV

I woke up very early to prepare Michelle for school, she's having her presentation today and I promised her that I'll be there.

"Dad, have you called my mum? Is she coming too?" She asked naively, she knows that Martha and I are not on good terms. I don't know why she wants us to be there together.

"Yeah, I called her and she should make it," I affirmed.

"Okay, Dad thanks." She said. her school bus came and drove her off, I pick her up myself after school because I can only afford the school bus coming in the morning.

I won't be going to school, I don't have lectures today. I'd use this opportunity to visit Rose at her office then head to Michelle's presentation and hopefully, I'd see Martha there.

I need to speak to Rose, I don't know why she's acting like this.

I freshened up and wore my nice tee shirt with blue jean trousers, it's going to be a sunny day and with a man that has no car, I'd be needing a face cap and sunshades. I wore my blue face cap and kept the sunshade in my pocket.

I took a taxi to Rose's office, I still had a few bucks with me. I worked on night shifts at the bar for two weeks and it pays better than the part-time day shift.

I got there in no time.

"Good morning, Welcome! How may we help you?" The receptionist said to me? This is my second time here, I was here during the grand opening of the company. This building is fancy though, I can't believe the same Rose runs this place.

"Sir? Any problem?" The receptionist snapped me out of my admiration.

"I'd like to see Rose, Rose Elliot." I managed to say.

"Do you have an appointment with her and what is your name please?" She asked me.

"I don't have an appointment with her but if you tell her David is here to see her, she'll let me in," I explained to the receptionist.

"I'm sorry sir, but I'd like you to drop your phone number and your email address, we'll get back to you very soon and make you an appointment with Miss Rose. Thank you." She said not looking at me. Wow! So I can't see Rose when I want again? This is really annoying.

"Okay, thanks." I left. I stood outside and called Alex, he should at least have her phone number.

"Hey! So I'm at Rose's office and the receptionist won't let me see Rose, would you please send me her private phone number." I asked over the phone.

"There's no point David, I would not want her to think I sent to you beg her or something, she made her decisions and it's fine." He said.

"Just send me her phone number." I insisted.

"Okay then." He hung up, a few minutes I received the message and I called her. I called her four times and she didn't pick up, I was about leaving when I decided to try one last time and luckily she picked up.

"Hello," A female voice that sounds nothing like Rose said.

"I'd like to speak with Rose Elliot please," I said.

"She's busy right now, you can call back at 3:00 pm." I heard. What's with all these, I can't see or speak to Rose without all these people around her telling me that she's not available.

"It's from David, David Efe," I said louder than usual.

"Ma'am It's from David, David Efe." I heard her say beneath.

"Oh! David." Now I heard Rose's voice.

"Rose, getting in touch with you was hard. Why?" I said with so much stress in my voice.
