I opened my eyes and saw Mason staring at me from a chair beside my bed. I was still in my bedroom by the looks of it. "Hey. How are you feeling?" the Brit asked me.

"Dizzy, but other than that good... um, why are you here?" I was confused.

"I'm the team's on-field doctor, remember? When I heard you scream I had to see if you were okay." Mason propped up some pillows to help me sit up in bed. I winced in pain as I did so. "Yeah... that um, is there. Has that always been there?"

I looked down and saw a charred circle on top of my sternum. "Um... no." I gingerly poked the black circle and the charred skin fell away to reveal a blue circle with swirl-like engravings. It started to glow and soon caught aflame.

'Your heart is right here... Not in a piece of scrap metal.'

"It's my demon heart... I was able to control my flames." I said, shocked at my accomplishment. Mason just moved closer to my bed.

"So... you're now... fully demon?" He asked, halfway between confused and scared. I just looked up at his green eyes.

Have Mason's eyes always been that green? Wait... where the hell did that come from?

I blinked a few times to get back to my original train of thought. "Y-yeah... I guess." I got off my bed and noticed that I was significantly taller than I was an hour ago. I picked up the two pieces of Kurikara from my floor. "I'm finally free..."

"...Well, if you're all good to stand then my work here is done... I- I think Natsuki and Erin are watching Yakusoku No Neverland if you want in." Mason then got up and went to the door.

"Yeah... I'll be there in a sec." I watched as Mason left my room, closing the door behind him.

(A/N: Okay, so, basically now Rin's body has gone through pretty much demon puberty. He is now a lot taller, and basically looks like the reference photos I used in the ST:T chapter. Remember when I said 'Storyline things' well, this is the storyline thing! Also his hair is the same navy/black blue though when he really 'flames up' then his hair goes white like in ch. 98 and onward)

*One month later*

I was sitting on the couch zoning in and out of the news. Something something CCG something 20th Ward blah blah blah. I didn't really care. I was actually trying to focus on my calculus homework but that fruitless conquest was interrupted when I heard a small beeping noise coming from the corner of the living room. I looked over and saw a metal pole that went from the floor to the ceiling, a small red dot was blinking on it as well. I'm not a tech expert so I got up and went down the hallway.

I went to Erin's room and knocked on the door, "Yes?"

"Um... that metal pole in the living room is beeping. Does that mean anything? Like has the wifi gone out or something?" I asked, pointing my thumb over my shoulder. Erin quickly pushed past me and speed walked down the hall after she knocked on everyone's doors.

The entirety of the team were now gathered in the living room with Erin working on something with the metal pole. I decided to lighten the very tense mood. "So... this isn't the wifi going out?"

Erin gave me an eyeroll, "No. It means we have a mission!"

"Finally!" Haruki basically screamed, throwing her hands above her hand. Almost all of us flinched. It was nice to have a mission, I was starting to get bored with the normal 'civilian' life. Erin continued to mess with the pole until a hologram projected out it and onto the bare wall next to it.

I saw the mission briefing. There was a group of weapons dealers that possibly have some alien/demonic weaponry on their hands. They were based out of a nightclub that was looking for a band.

"What if we make a band? That could be our cover and alibi for the night." Haruki said the team. Daisuke and Natsuki nodded, they already play guitar and piano, Erin could maybe play the drums, though we would need a singer.

"Rin! You should be the singer!" Mason said, "we've heard you before. You're great!"

I just shook my head and rubbed the back of my neck, feeling a blush on my face, "I'm not that good. And besides, do we really want someone who's on the run from the Vatican be plastered onto posters?"

Daisuke just laughed, "One. Stop being too humble, Rinny you're great at singing. Two. It looks like this place is a little off-the-radar, and after you're whole sword-breaking thing you look way different. Don't worry."

The room was quiet for a minute before I caved. "Fine. But... " I ran to my room and grabbed the old pieces of Kurikara and brought them back to the group and put them on the coffee table. "Every band needs a good logo."

A broken sword with the pieces crossed. A symbol of battle and a symbol of destruction.

"What should we call ourselves?" Natsuki asked the group.

"Desiderium."
