An hour or so had passed, Alastor was getting ready to head to the hotel for the day. He would have been there earlier, but after the events with Lucifer he needed to be alone with his own thoughts.

Knock
      Knock
             Knock!

"Come in...," he answered as he gave himself a glance over in the mirror. His red eyes watched as the door opened in the reflection revealing Lucifer, in his usual suit, fixed hair and all. "I'm terribly sorry about earlier dearie," the devil started once he had closed the door. Alastor could feel one his eyes twitch, he was pissed and was trying to keep his eyes from turning into dials, "Save it...," he turned to face the other, "You made your feelings quite plain to me earlier."

"Now, now, I simply didn't want you to see me like that—"

The red demon snapped, "Oh I see clearly how you want it! Very clearly! You wish for me to be nothing more than a marionette in which you pull the strings and I come running. Then when you're finished you shall cast me away out of sight until you're ready to play with my strings once more."

Lucifer shook his head, "You misunderstand..."

Huffing Alastor grabbed his microphone, "No, I think not, your highness. Now if you don't mind I shall take my leave to the hotel and I shall return tonight when I'm quite sure you shall attempt to pull my strings once more.."

At this point, the king was unsure how to respond. He watched with a blank stare, his mind reeling like crazy. He really messed up just when it seemed like he was making some progress. His serpent eyes watched the other walk to door, and as a clawed hand went to reach for the door handle he finally spoke.

"You don't have to return tonight if you truly don't wish too. You're free to do as you want..."

Alastor just gave a nod, not bothering to give a more vocal answer. He had other things to worry about, and the king wasn't going to be one of them.

************

The hotel staff was sitting on the sofas in the lobby when the radio demon entered. All were talking about things they could do for the party. "Oh hello Alastor," the princess greeted him. "Why hello my dear," he gave his usual chipper sounding voice, "Might I ask what you're all doing?"

"We're trying to think of entertainment for the party! Do you want to join us," she asked, her hands behind her back. He shook his head, "No thank you, I think I'd like the go to the kitchen. Get things going early."

"Oh...," she could tell something was wrong with the deer demon, "Of course."

Charlie stepped to the side, letting him go to be by his lonesome. Once he was gone she settled by Vaggie, "Something is bothering him." The moth woman looked at her, "How can you tell when he's always smiling like that?"

Charlie pointed to her eyes as she answered, "It's his eyes...it seemed like there was some anger and maybe a bit of sadness in them."

Angel and Husk sat on the opposite sofa across the two women. Well it was mainly the cat was laying on there and Angel chose to sit on his lap. He didn't seem to mind it so, the spider didn't move. He crossed his two sets of arms with and raised a brow, "So Smiles has other emotions?"

"Of course he does. Do you really think that jackass is always happy? If so you've been fooled," Husk butted in. Charlie sighed getting back up again, "I should go check on him—"

"No, I will. He won't speak with you on the same level as he does me," he patted Angel's leg,"Get up, I'm goin' to talk with him." The tall white demon did as he was asked and got up. This allowed Husk to get off the sofa, "None of you follow me. I know you want to help, but eavesdroppin' will only piss him off." They all nodded in understanding, before he walked off to the kitchen. There he saw Alastor's back facing him as he sharpened kitchen knives. The cat took a deep breath, closing the heavy doors, which caught the other's attention due to one of his red ears twitching upon his head. "Charlie, my dear, I'm alright. I just wish to be left alone right now," he stated, not even bothering to turn around. "I ain't the princess," Husk's voice caused the other to turn to face him immediately. "Oh Husker—" "Cut the bullshit Al, sorry but ya shitty happy facade doesn't work on me. I know you're upset, so what's bothering you," he walked over to the island in the kitchen before settling there. "Nothing is the matter—"
