Lily had tried her hardest to forget Tommy and the image of him leaving with Lizzie but it was proving impossible. Michael had continued to comment on Tommy's intentions and it had made her sick.
Giving up she asked that Michael take her home, feigning being tired from the long day. As they'd drove home Michael continued to talk about the days events and Lily tried her best to keep up.
"Are you excited to be staying in your house this evening?" He asked her as they entered small Heath.
Lily thought about the house and felt nervous about her first night in her own home. It was a big step and she had never lived alone before.
"I'm nervous" she mumbled, pulling Michaels jacket around her "I've never lived alone before"
Michael nodded "Don't worry your under the Peaky's protection"
That's exactly what Lily was worrying about, being close to The Peaky Blinders, one in particular. Putting roots down when she was pretty certain she wasn't going to stay wasn't a great idea but she had felt pressured into it by Michael.
Sighing she realised that she would have to deal with it all once and for all. Tomorrow she told herself, it could wait.
Pulling up to the house Lily looked at the door and suddenly felt panicked. It was all so real as he trembling fingers reached into her bag for her keys. Walking up the freshly painted door she slipped the key into the lock and turned around.
As she turned around Michael quickly pressed his lips to Lily's in a chaste kiss. Lily gasped and stood back, in complete shock at the feel of his lips on hers.
"Michael" she breathed as she looked into his eyes.
"Sorry"'he grinned as he swept his hands through his hair "I didn't mean to scare you. I just couldn't help myself"
"I-I.....good night Michael" and she rushed into the door and slammed it shut on Michaels face, her heart racing in her chest "Oh god" she whispered to herself as she stood in the darkness.

Hours later when Small Heath had fallen asleep Lily was awoken to the sound of tapping against her front door. As she tip toed down the stairs in her robe she wondered if a local drunk had accidentally got the wrong house.
Holding her breath she opened the door slightly and was surprised to see Tommy Shelby stood there with his cap off.
Opening the door she raised an eyebrow at him "Its three in the morning"
"Good morning Miss Adler" he said as he slipped passed and entered her home. Rolling her eyes she followed him as he looked around, his eyes taking in the detail of her newly acquired home and Michaels jacket on the stairs.
"Why are you here?" She asked as they settled in the kitchen, both staring at one another. Tommy looked relaxed tonight and carefree, it was breathtaking to see but she was careful not to show her curiosity. Afraid that it would scare him away.
"I've come to see your new house!" And he took his coat off and threw it on the back of a large chair that sat in the corner.
"At three in the morning?" She chided as she peered down at his coat. Was this his way of telling her he wasn't leaving anytime soon. Lily sighed, she was exhausted and not mentally prepared for his mind games.
"I couldn't sleep" he shrugged before he took a seat "Do I get a drink?"
Lily laughed at the ridiculousness of the situation before filling up her kettle and placing it on the stove.
