Lan Wangji:
"Wei Ying" I called out out to him, I wanted to spend some more time with him tonight before we left.
"Excuse me then." He excused himself from another family because who hoarded him and walked upto me "Lan Zhan, are you leaving?"
"Not yet. Seems like brother isn't done yet." I said as I pointed out to Jiang Cheng and my brother who seemed to be going somewhere together.
"Ah. Then, shall we runaway as well?" Wei Ying said, his eyes gleaming with mischief. How could I say no to him?
"Mn."
Without a second thought his slender fingers wrapped around my wrist and he pulled along with him. We walked down the quite hallway and made our way towards the same lotus pond we sat by last night.
"Lan Zhan, thank you."
Huh? Why was he thanking me?
"After what I said at the airport before I left the country, I thought that you'll never be able to forgive me."
Ah. That's why.
"I thought.....you'd..." He stopped for a moment and I saw a few strands of his hair covering his face.
Don't cover his beautiful face, I haven't had my fill yet.
Now being able to resist, my hands instinctively made its way to tuck the strands of hair behind his ear. As my hands touched his ear, he turned towards me with his beautiful eyes. They seemed to be so full of emotions that I couldn't comprehend.
"You thought I would forget about you?" I asked with my hand still resting on his face.
How could I?
"Because, I hurt you." He said and turned his eyes away from me.
Ah. Don't hide avert your eyes from me when it wasn't your fault.
An awkward silence hung over us, I couldn't tell him anything because it wasn't the right time or place to discuss this matter.
"Wei Ying" I said as my hands reached out to lift his face.
"Lan Zhan" His voice quivered.
My body was itching to close the distance between us but after all this time, I was scared.
"Can I?" I said as I brought my face close to his.
"Yes." He replied.
As soon as the word rolled out of his tongue, all hell broke loose. I pulled him close and kissed him like there was no tomorrow, his arms went around my neck as I held him close to me with one of my arms for support.
It has been so long.
Wei Ying kept his arms around me as if hanging for dear life, I didn't say anything more as I savoured the moment.
"Lan Zhan" he said breaking the silence "will you give me some time...er...to... think about it?"
I was scared he would say that but I wouldn't force him, I want to take this slow this time.
"Mn"
That's all I could say.
------------------
It was finally time to leave, our precious moment was interrupted by the call of my brother. Almost all guests were leaving together and I saw Wei Ying forcing himself to smile even though he was clearly tired.
"Wangji" brother called out to me "will you be going back to the main house to pick up Shizui?"
"Yeah. What about Jingyi?" I asked.
"Well, I don't want to go to the main house as well but...." Brother let out a tired sigh.
"Jin Guangyao won't be going with you today?" I asked.
"Uh, no. Fortunately, Guangshan called him in so he will be going back to Koi mansion along with Zixuan and A-li." He said.
"That means Jingyi will finally get some time with his father." I said.
"I hate that you talk so much nowadays." Brother said.
"Right." I said and boarded my car.
"Sir, where to, first? My driver asked.
"Main house and then home."
"Yes sir." My driver said as he started the car.
I looked out of the window and saw someone waving, confused I looked closely, it was Wei Ying. He smiled as he waved towards me and instinctively, my hand started to wave at him as well. As soon as he was out of my vision, I loosened my tie and let go of my coat. I closed my eyes to get a nap but instead, I traveled back to the time Wei Ying and I talked for the first time.
Past:-
It has been three weeks since we started our classes in school. My days would be peaceful if a certain someone did not get on my nerve every. Single. DAY.
Wei Wuxian was the embodiment of unruly and indiscipline, he would always talk back to the professors, he would change the recette without anyone knowing. Even then, I had to agree that he had the talent and I came to understand why he was known as the meat master of Yunmeng. Still, he was annoying and shameless to his core.
He would call out to me whenever he would see me while I didn't want to be involved with this kind of person at all.
Today, again, he decided to call out to me in the hallway as I was returning to the class.
"Wangji-xiong!"
So annoying! Ignore him!
"Don't ignore me Wangji-xiong!"
I stopped in my tracks to listen what he had to say, this was starting to get annoying.
"Finally! Hey, hey, don't go ignoring me again!"
Shut up.
"What should I call you to get a reaction out of you?"
Don't call me, that's it.
"Wangji, Lan Wangji, Er-gege? Ah! I know! Lan Zhan!"
How dare he!
"Well, since I will be calling you by your birth name you can call me by my birth name as well."
"I don't want to be involved with you in anyway, so I don't need to call you anything." I finally said out loud.
"Ehhhh? You're no fun!" He said.
He kept on rambling like the usual until, I couldn't take it anymore.
"Wei Wuxian!" I said.
He stopped talking and stared at me wide eyed.
"I do not want to be involved with an unruly student who goes against everything a professor has to say! You might not follow rules but I do and being involved with you spells trouble, so back off! I do not want to be involved with you!"
As soon as I was done, I looked at his face and saw an expression I have never seen before. It was a sad expression with a weak smile on his face.
What's with that expression?
"Lan Wangji, sorry." He said and left for whatever business he was going to attend.
I should have been happy with him being off my back but why did I feel so..... suffocated?
