My eyelids were weighed down as I used every last ounce of willpower to lift them open, but the second my efforts had the slightest success, they would heavily fall back down, making the next attempt even harder. For a small moment, my eyes stayed open, all that could be seen as a distant, blurry figure looming across the room, one that I made little of. My last pursuit ended in a terrible defeat before I was halfway done, and soon after I drifted back into a comatose state.
There was a muted voice in the background, growing the slightest bit louder each passing second, and disrupting any possibility I had of falling into a deeper state of complete unconsciousness. The calls went ignored, but remained adamant to the point where they grew to a point of intensity that would force me to give in. My eyelids slightly ascended, allowing bright white light to stream in overwhelming a vast, yet peaceful darkness.
The heavy light stressed my eyes, detracting from my sight to the extent that everything seemed like clusters and jumbles of colors. I quickly blinked a few times, with each coming more clarity. Soon, I was able to identify the person who had interrupted my blissful sleep as Lucas. I raised myself to a sitting position, but going no further than that, I had no desire to leave the warmth of my covers.
"Took you long enough," he said in a way that made my eardrums feel like they would bleed out.
"What?" I yawned.
"I know what you did last night," he said with a stern tone.
"What did I do?" I asked, with few recollections of the party.
"You were high," he said while looking more concerned than he should be.
"You definitely did worse." I rolled my eyes and continued, "Anyway, how'd you find out."
"Jungkook."
"How'd he know?"
"Of course you don't remember. You have terrible tolerance. He brought you back here."
I was perplexed and more importantly an idiot. I couldn't be like that, I couldn't make those types of decisions for one night and not regret them later, I was a fool for even trying. It was fun, but because of that fun, doubtlessly, I said and did things that would create a tangled mess I would have to make sacrifices to fix.
I sighed running my hands through my hair, it was tangled and greasy from all the sweating I did last night. "Look, I'm really sorry for what happened last night but can we please talk about this later? My head feels like it's going to split open," I mumble as I throw myself back into my warm sheets.
I could hear a scoff from the other side of the room "You brought this on yourself, maybe if you hadn't been so reckless none of this would be happening."
"Well you're my brother, aren't you supposed to be looking after me?"
Thinking back I don't remember seeing either Lucas or Marrisa after my arrival. "Where did you and Marrisa run off to? I don't remember seeing either of you all night."
As soon as the words left my mouth I could see him stiffen and a gust of tension flew into the air. "We were there, maybe you just didn't notice because you were so fucking stoned."
"Okay, I get it. I messed up. Why the hell are you getting so worked up? Did something happen with Marrisa?" I could see his jaw clench and his whole body strain. Judging by his reaction something must've happened, but I knew better than to ask right now. Instead, I opted to change the topic.
As soon as I opened my mouth to say something he beat me to it. "Who was that guy you were hanging around last night? Jungkook mentioned him and that you were spending most of the party with him."
