So Peter's one of those. The kind that sneezes multiple times in a row. I have a cousin like that. It's hilarious! HAHAHA! Peter's nose is very red now, he keeps rubbing at it furiously. I can't believe that the cold air caused him to sneeze so much. He must have a very fragile and sensitive nose.
Anyway, I glance around the room to find Goose, who is sitting perched to the side of the room. "Goose! Come here, girl!" I say and she immediately comes over; but not to me, to Peter instead.
"Oh, it seems like Goose is quite fond of you Peter! Would you like to hold him?" I say, already standing up.
"No, it's OK Mr. Fury, I umm, I just-" Peter starts.
"Don't worry, Peter! Goose is the kindest creature in the universe." I reassure him, placing Goose on his lap. The look of absolute horror on his face surprises me. Is he afraid of cats?
Goose immediately snuggles up close to Peter, her tail brushing across his face. Peter starts sniffling and sniveling.
Suddenly, I see his eyes scrunch up, his head tilts back and to the side, and his nostrils flare. He takes a sharp breath in and I know he's going to sneeze again.
"HA-Hetchoo! Ha-shoo! TSCHOO! HAH-HA-TISHOOO!" Peter's body shook with the force from his sneezes. Startled, Goose hurriedly jumped off his lap and back onto the floor.
It finally dawns on me. How could I be so stupid? He's allergic to Goose!
"Het-CHOO! Ha-HAH-TSCHOO!" Peter continues, a few allergic tears streaming down his face.
"Peter, I'm so sorry! I should've realized it sooner!" I scramble to get Goose out of the room. "Why didn't you just tell me you were allergic?" I ask.
"Sorr- HET-SCHOO! Sorry. TISCHOO!"
By the time Peter finishes sneezing, he's out of breath. God, I feel terrible. I hope he doesn't have allergic asthma; if his throat closes, I'll have to take him to the hospital. No, no, I'm just thinking the worst. He's fine. He must be so crestfallen though. Damn, I should've done a background check. I guess Spiderman's allergic to cats.
