I Can't Explain

It was hard to sleep, I kept tossing and turning but I was unable to get comfortable. There was too much on my mind. He's a vampire, he's slept with my older sister, he's my actual soulmate and yet he doesn't have a soul. Why does life have to be so complicated?

I wish Anya hadn't mentioned Spike and Buffy sleeping together, the thought makes me shudder in disgust. I can't be with someone that's been inside my sister that concept is appalling. I could always forget, see if Tara or Willow would do a memory charm on me it's risky but they've been practising longer than me so I trust their abilities more than my own. If they refuse I'd probably have to do it myself. With that final conclusion I was able to convince myself to go to sleep.

Buffy's POV

"Buffy we need to think about how to approach this situation." Willow spoke.

"No he never should've met her, he's leaving now before she wakes up!" I argue, I'm not letting Y/n throw her life away for Spike she deserves so much more.

"I agree with your reasoning Buffster but, we should let Y/n/n decide it's her life." Xander chimed.

"You guys don't understand he's more than just some fling-" Willow tried to explain before I cut her off.

"He won't even be that if I have anything to do with it, he's getting out now." I stated as I headed down to the basement to kick Spike out.

I got halfway down the stairs and saw the basement was empty.

"Spike." I called out knowing how fond of lurking he is.

When there was no movement or response I couldn't help the smile on my face. I went back up the stairs into the kitchen.

"He's gone. He already packed up and left."

"Have you checked the living room, he-he could be in there?" Willow suggested as they followed me into the living room.

The couch was all made up and someone had clearly slept on it last night but once again the room was a Spike free zone. I let out a sigh of relief he must've left.

"Guess he took it upon himself to leave her alone." Xander spoke.

"I didn't think he'd do that."

"It's a pleasant surprise, hopefully he'll stay away." I smiled knowing he's gone.

Y/n's POV

Something felt different about this morning, my bed felt sturdier and safer I couldn't help but nuzzle deeper into it inhaling deeply as I did. Something was wrong my bed moved slightly once I did that. Unwillingly I opened my eyes to see what was going on. Laying in my bed with their arms around me laid Spike, he had a content smile on his face.

"Spike! What are you doing here?" I asked alarmed at such a personal intrusion.

"Woah easy Pet, it's nothing weird just thought-"

"You're in my room, you're in my bed! How'd you react if you woke up and saw me in your bed?" I asked attempting to hide my practically exposed body under my duvet.

"Well... when you put it like that..." Spike says suggestively eyeing whatever part of me that's on display.

"You know what I meant!" I roll my eyes before turning away from him and nuzzling against my pillow.
