Tara's pov

"I guess we should do what Y/n asked..." Willow suggested softly as she fidgeted with her fingers.

"Yeah, she didn't ask for any of this chaos so the least we could do is do what she actually asked." I say flashing my beloved a kind smile before heading back into the house to face the music together.

"You aren't going to see her ever again, do you understand?" We hear Buffy yell.

"Y/n doesn't deserve to have you screw up her life. If you care about her you'll leave her alone to get on with her life." Xander adds sounding like a cliche movie.

"See that's something the movies get wrong if you care for someone you don't let them go, you fight for them." Spike retorts passionately.

"You care about her?" Dawn asks hesitantly as we enter the full kitchen.

Spike remains silent whilst rolling his eyes at the curious beady eyes glued on him.

"We have something you guys need to know." Willow chimes breaking the tense silence. "It's about Y/n." At that all eyes turn to us.

"What's wrong, is she okay?" Giles asks in his concerned father tone.

"She...she asked us to tell you guys about the circumstances. Y/n and Spike are what's commonly referred to as soulmates." I inform after taking a deep breath.

"Spike doesn't have a soul." Anya points out obviously.

"Yes well we could get his soul back like you guys did for Angel. Only if you're okay with that though, Spike." I reply confidently.

"If Spike get's his soul back you won't be able to keep them apart without causing them both a great deal of pain." Willow adds.

"And if he doesn't get his soul back?" Buffy asks with her arms folded.

"Well...seen as though Y/n is aware of his existence she'll still be in pain."

"So she's currently in pain?" Dawn asks worriedly her blue eyes wide.

"Well it's early days so it's just emotionally but it will progress to mentally and finally physically until it becomes unbearable and her heart inevitably gives up on her." I explain solemnly, everyone's eyes widen in shock, Dawn gasps and Spike visibly tenses whilst clenching his jaw.

"So if I get my soul back, will I go through the same pain if they keep us apart?"

"Yes."

"Is there a way to prevent that happening to her other than her and Spike being together?" Buffy asks as I subtly clench my fist.

After hearing about what will probably happen to N/n they still want her to be unhappy and away from her soulmate instead of just letting them be together they've got to be kidding me.

"The only other alternative is a complete memory wipe of him." I accidentally snap as Willow soothingly caresses my arm.

"Memory spells are very dangerous, is Y/n aware of this option?" Giles questions intently.

"She was the one that brought it up actually." Willow says as Spike's shoulders slump slightly clearly disheartened that Y/n had been the one to consider that option.

"Is that the option she wants to choose?" Spike asks looking over to us anxiously awaiting a response.

I shake my head.

"She doesn't want that one but either way we'll need to do a memory spell she said she wants you to make the choice."

"If either way part of her memory needs to be erased then why don't we just stick to getting rid of Spike?" Xander suggests.
